Hey guys! I have been told that i should get the 3770k For gaming, which i most likely will. Out of curiosity though, If i'm primarily playing games, would an i7 3930k Sandy BRIDGE-E 3.2Ghz 12mbout perform an i7 3770k 3.5Ghz 8mb in terms of FPS. Although i play a number of games, i primarily play WoW which does rely fairly heavily on CPU. I know that a 3930k would be overkill and that even a 3770k is still overkill, but i am just curious - Would i achieve better gaming performance with the 3930k?

Cheers :)

As dave said, Just get the cheaper of the two which would be 3770K. Also if you do not do much stuff that involves the extra threads then I would suggest a 3570K and its even cheaper.

Thanks :) And just out of curiosity, is it possible for you to run two CPU's as you run can run two graphics cards?

Only if you get a motherboard which supports 2 CPU's.

Normally used for powerful servers, very heavy video processing, 3D rendering etc..

Save a couple bucks and get a 3570k,if your not going to overclock just get a 3450.

If you're buying for gaming it's idiotic to spend bigger bucks on a i73930k when you can get the same gaming performance on a processor at nearly 1/2 the price.

For the record, I am one of those idiots. I don't drive a sports car but ladies love the silicon. As if...

If you need a CPU only for gaming, i think i5 3570K is an even better choice.

Thanks for your advice guys :) This is sort of off topic, but in terms of Cases, i was planning on buying an NZXT phantom 410, but i see that the 820 is currently on sale so i'm now considering it. If i buy an 820, what are the benefits? Cause i know it's bigger. I would assume i would need to buy different cooling devices, but would it require a different sized motherboard or would it not matter? thanks.

Won't matter, it's just a larger case, with more cooling OPTIONS..not requirements.
