Advice on new gaming mouse?

I currently have a MS Sidewinder X8,which has always been uncomfortable for me to hold,sometimes the left click doesn't register, the charger built into the wireless thing quit working,and the scroll wheel when from normal to no "click" when scrolling (can get annoying in FPS games).
I looked at the Logitech G400 and G500 at a bestbuy both seemed comfortable though I wouldn't know which one to choose,also I don't really want to spend more than $60-80 on a mouse.

Ive been using a Razer Lachesis for 3 years now and it has never given me any grief and I find it rather comfortable as it is a rather long mouse so it works with my large hands. It just fits within your budget at ~$80

I really like my Gigabyte M8000X "Ghost" mouse. Fits well in my hand, has removable weights, and has a nice on the fly DPI button.

Software works pretty well too.

I second this, I got my M8000X about two months ago after my old faithful "G5" died

I was really worried about getting used to a new mouse as my G5 felt like an extension of my hand I shouldn't have. I felt right at home with this new one straight away and when I upgraded my monitor it came into its own. I also like the software as it's non intrusive and has not caused any issues in games like the setpoint software did on rare occasions.

Two recommendations for a Razer and two for a Gigabyte M8000X?
The M8000X looks large,my Sidewinder is a large mouse,but it isn't ergonomic enough with the way I hold a mouse (some weird in between a palm and claw grip.)

Have you ever had a problem with your Deathadder?
While reading reviews for the Deathadder,some users had a button wear out resulting in it double clicking.

I would suggest a Razer Mamba Elite 2012. Owned it for about 2 weeks, and it's really nice.
Most importantly, it's smooth and fast.

Got it for about $80 with all the discounts and stuff, but since then it has increased.

If you can find the original Deathadder then go for it. But I'd recommend the Razer Abyssus or if you can find it..the Intellimouse Optical. I have a G9X and I have used other laser mice as well, they don't do very well in terms of the fast play style of Quake. If it's just casual then go with the best price for performance. G700 isn't bad as well as the rest everyone has listed. It all depends on what you play.

Deathadder is a nice mouse, mine is old as dirt and still works. The Logitech g500 is a nice mouse too, especially if you can get a good deal. If you don't mind waiting a littl elonger, you can buy one for less $ than bestbuy will charge you.

You don't need to spend a bunch on a gaming mouse. Most mice are pretty good these days. It all comes down to what is most comfortable in your hand.

It depends on how you use your mouse.

I used a finger grip style, and find small mice and muti button mice problematic. So i have a huge mouse with a DPI adjustment and only 2 side buttons extra.

While neither been the fastest or the most featured mice, it is fast and smooth, with an uncluttered layout and a reasonable price.

Logitech G500 is also a good choice.... they use the same laser as the G9X but charge around half the price for it. really recommended if you are a 'palm grip' guy

G500 gets my vote. If your a palm grip person it is very comfortable, easy to set up gaming profiles and just a nice mouse all round for the money. Was a great replacement for my G5.

Logitech G9X>all. Comes with two different cases as well, depending on how you hold your mouse (palm grip or claw grip). I've owned like 10 different mice in the last few years, and nothing has been as nice as this G9X.

Stay away from Razer. Cheap components and terrible quality control. Their mice pads are nice, but that's cos you can't break them!
