Aftermarket air cooler f. GTX 480

What is recommended??

Never had a card running that hot......When playing Metro 2033
with max settings the temp. is almost 96 degrees celcius..... :mad:

try setting the fan manually, then if its still hot or too loud then you can look for one but there aren't many that will do anywhere near as good as the stock does

96C is actually normal for a GTX480 depending on how much airflow you have.

I have plenty of airflow - hench The Skeleton case.......and yes I could raise the speed of the fan....but it is already loud enough as it is.....I could boil egg´s on this aparatus....

Switching back to my good old 5870 ... until I come up with some cooling solution for the boiler

If the Zalman VF3000N ever sees the light of day on retail shelves instead of just the Zotac Amp 480. I would think Arctic Cooling is working on something.

AFAIK the only real soution currently is water. There are 4-5 coolers I know of still "in the works" but for the time being, thats really it, water.

It's either that, Gelid Icy Vision end of the month (If they'll sell those there) or Arctic Cooling Accelero GTX 480. The last one really should be out already, 5870 version just needs a bigger mount hole distance on bottom and it's ready..

If it actually fits the card is another story

Only mentions GT200 family, but also has 2 other mounting holes. GT200 is 51mm wide and Fermi is 58.42mm wide and HD series in the middle. (there is the Zotac card that would think uses the outer holes and then there is a review with GTX 285 and that cooler that should use the middle holes, but to lazy to check)

Agree, if you want a 480 first you must have in mind watercooling.
