I had cheap mice and also a Lachesis but I must say this is the best one I've ever owned so far

Plug & play, no drivers it's been going for 6+ years, still functions fine, wheel is perfect. Most of the 'silver' (the light grey in above picture) is gone so it looks ugly. I still use it on my laptop and is great for gaming.as long as surface is smooth. Current surface is an A4 paper folded in half

My Lachesis on the other hand is kinda iffy. Drivers... firmware...
As of late the mouse pointer's started 'travelling' on its own and I have to unplug the usb and replug it so as to keep me sane :ohwell:

Edit: and the wheel started 'slipping' just after the warranty elapsed..

I have a G9x from Logitech and I love it. It only requires drivers once, to set up the 5 programmable profiles, and from then on the profiles and all driver info is stored on the mouse itself. So you now have 5 completely customizable profiles, with DPIs from 200-5000 I think it is(I have the G9, so I only go to 3200DPI), and on the fly switchable DPI all 5 of which you set yourself. Not to mention the 2 interchangeable grips that come with it, the 30+ more you can order online, and the changeable weight system inside allowing you to go from straight mouse weight to 28 grams(which makes a large difference). In addition to that it has a switch that allows you to switch from click scrolling to complete free-roll(which can go on FOREVER), and it has 4 way scrolling(up, down, left, right) and a decently easy to hit middle mouse. It also has 2 side buttons. I have had mine for a year now and it is still running good. I highly recommend. :D

compatability wise the G9 has to win. it has over 30 different mouse grip styles, as in 30 different mouse shapes that you can get. note why it is so expensive.

i am a clawer myself, i find it more accurate in fps

and when i ordered it i got the G9 and a G15 v1 for less than 100 together >_<

I admit, the G500 only has one profile, but it stores it, no matter what os I use it under. Plus, you can save the profile as a file, and switch whenever you want. Not worth the extra $30 for that honking big mouse...

This G500 is sex with a laser! Dam I like how it feels and responds. I saw somewhere about using A4 printer paper, so I found a picture frame, and found 2 sheets of a4 fit perfect, put the mouse on it, perfect! I've done 5 windows reinstalls in a row because of other problems, and it saves my dpi ect settings, don't have to reprogram. Best $109can after taxes and shipping I ever spent!
