1 day left to lock in this SWEET deal! I have loved mine!

So much so, I'm ordering a spare pair! These normally go for $200 on Amazon and other e-tailers and AKG's MSRP.

These work well with portable devices and really open up with an amp and are also nicely reactive to EQ-ing if you desire more or less bass. Nice clear mids and hi's. excellent passive isolation, damn good comfort, I can't praise these enough for closed cans. They aren't the bassiest cans ever, but with EQ-ing you can achieve great bass without killing clarity...and they'll have no qualms about reaching down low.

They also make no apologies for shitty recordings, but at the same time, my MP3 collection is perfectly enjoyable as most are 320K or higher pass VBR. I have very few FLACs.

Also work out great for gaming! For a closed can they have a pretty damn vast soundstage. Bigger than any other closed headphone I've used/owned in the last 10 years. If you want a nice closed can that is pretty good at anything and can be usable from almost any source (especially with EQ), these are it IMHO.

Anyways, worth the investment imho. If you want to upgrade from some gaming headsets, this is a very good choice. If you want something that won't break the bank but can perform admirably and be comfortable doing it, these work very well!

I just recently switched back from my Sennheiser 518s and was surprised again by these. They're a great set of cans in this price range.

Put it this way, when I had to get rid of my beloved HiFiMan HE-400's because their open-ness sucked in my listening environment (read home full of kids, but I wouldn't have it any other way! :) )...I tried $400 Oppo PM-3's, rebuilt my Denon D2000's, tried my re-added JVC HA-RX700's (HM5 pads fit after some work...well worth it too BTW!),

These headphones I decided on after weeks of research in my budget for excellent closed cans...and These were 1/2 what I wanted to spend and provided me everything I wanted and more than expected. I'm still damn happy with these...not for everyone but a great place to start and maybe even end!

The drop is back on! Still one of the best headphones at this price I've ever listened to! Comfortable, and easy to adjust. Even my kid with glasses and sensitivity issues can find comfort in these, it also helps they're extremely lightweight. They are responsive to EQ and amplification but neither is necessary, tune and amp to your listening preferences. I cannot recommend these enough!

Massdrop AKG 553Pro's for $119.99

Those of you looking for a damn good pair of headphones to upgrade from a lower-end pair or gaming headsets (need a different mic setup of OFC), you should seriously look here. Mine are over a year old..I've got 100's of hours, I gotta say they sounded great from day one and still sound amazing today. I could go on and on...but really, do yourself a favor...if looking for a great closed-back headphone with great passive isolation, these are it.

A new drop for 2017 for AKG K553 Pro's for $119.99!

I have spoken very highly of these and at this price, they're an amazing value! If you want some good headphones and don't want to spend $100's, this might just get the job done. Mine have been amazing and have held up amazingly well. I really cannot recommend anything else in this price range!
