I hope the US doesn't have a import tax ... it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

That 7500f linked is the bang for buck champ on reddit. I have read quite a few people got it and are stoked with it.

We def have an import tax. It really depends on how much they declare the value.

EDIT: thankfully its nothing like VAT. Its generally reasonable and cheap. I think the most I paid on duties was like $30.

Yes the US has an import tax or tarrif or whatever it is called, that is imposed upon entry to our shores....

However, it is supposedly offset, at least partially, by the "no-warranty/no support/potential fake" discount offered by the Ali folks :D

I'm googling it and it looks complicated. I might just send ali express a email.

The only time I've ever dealt something similar was when the jerk off TSA agents tried to screw me for a $3 shot glass I purchased in the duty free zone at Frankfurt Airport. I told TSA to keep the shot glass if they were going to keep being dicks about it and they laid off.

Oh it isnt, dont look at handling it yourself. they do all that.

At most you will get an email from UPS/FedEX/USPS/DHL and your tracking will update with a link saying its "held" for duty payment. IF that even happens. If it does, you just click the link on your tracking, or email. Pay the $ and then it gets delivered.

They show different classes of import tax. What I'm worried about is by the time I pay their tax it will cost nearly as much as the 7600 (non X).

I've ordered a few things from AliExpress to the US and there were no import taxes or duty fees on anything so far. It's generally taken 3-4 weeks for said product to show up and I've used a tertiary credit card I'm cool with killing in case something untoward happened, but nothing yet.

2060 Super was the most recent (roughly a year ago?), but I've ordered other things that I don't remember right now.

Bought a few things recently (in past 2 years) direct from manufacturer in China, the tariff thing never even occurred to me, and didn't notice anything on bills.

None of the stuff (KB, Amplifiers) was more than 100USD total though, may have been something I didn't even see.

Pretty sure I remember both packages going to from China to US via Vancouver now that I think about it, or if that even matters.

Ali is fine, just make sure you are getting things from wither an official brand storefront (quite a lot of brands have them there) or a reputable reseller. Their rating system is actually somewhat helpful in that. Obviously, getting stuff to US will be longer and there is that import tax. I never had to deal with either where I am (anything I order is here in 2-3 weeks), so can’t comment on that.

I've never paid import taxes or duties on any flight sim hardware I've imported from China or Europe to US. Canada is a different matter, but US has an allowance under $800usd afaik for a lot of electronics. In the hotas world we often have to split orders at that point to stay below the $800 threshold.

The bigger question I think is the level of risk you are okay with on this. If it's anything like my ebay 4650G, whatever happens, you are completely on your own. Unless they really are selling a boxed product, it's probably a tray CPU, so basically no warranty from AMD.

When I had to RMA another CPU with AMD, they did require purchase receipt. So even if it's a china market boxed CPU, not sure how AMD NA (RMA center based in Miami iirc) will interpret that.

I have been ordering for years. It can be very iffy, but in the last two years, sellers have stepped it up as AliExpress started the buying protection thing. Beyond the very long shipping, it's actually not bad.

I hope the US doesn't have a import tax ... it wouldn't surprise me if they did.
I've never seen any customs taxes imposed. Don't think it's a thing for low value items. Like @tabascosauz stated, the item value likely has to be above a certain threshold.

I wonder why Canada has that cpu available yet it's a no go here in the US.

Import duties are low in all members of WTO, for all products that are not currently used as weapons in a trade war.

What about the sales tax? For as much as I know, it was easy to evade many years ago, but not any longer. Of course, if it's 0% in Alaska, the OP won't even care.

I didnt go through any exchange rate and just paypal, so only the tax of my state was applied. in my case it amounted to maybe a few cents since the last item specifically was only a few $. However like you mentioned, if the state has no sales tax then it goes through like any other domestic transaction. Atleast all the times iv done it, which is probably a few dozen.

As for import duties, I think the max I paid was like $30 for more expensive items, but that rate varies based on what they declare the value as.

They are the store I ordered mine from and it is working grate for me. At the time they were 145.55 (Price includes sales tax), with no import fees and I had it in two weeks. I even bought a Jonsbo z20 case from them for 86.54 (Price includes sales tax), it took a month to get it, and it was in one piece.

The UK has Amazon, as well as several reputable online IT stores with decent warranty and returns policies. I'd rather pay a bit more than risk AliExpress with that in mind.

scam site. many scamming sellers. fake tracking. bai and switch, send defective items, missing items. I always used my camera to record video of me opening the package. items descrived as one thing, come as something else. their stock is down the shets. for a reason.

when you open a dispute, which there are plenty, they side with their own kind and deny you a refund. I ALWAYS get it back by going through my credit card company. they wont let you delete their account. they have "sales" like 24/7 cause sales are so down.

I can show you power bank where I realized it wasnt even charging my phone from 30% and didnt pass 80%. so cut a small hole with a dremel. I look inside 3x18650 batteries inside. 2 blue, one purple. I finally pop the back off and realize theres on 2 of the batteries connected and 1 is not connected and a dummy weight. they sell tons of counterfeit as genuine. never believe and name brand is genuine, unless its a chinese brand.

asnother power bank. a long one. it was unbalanced in weight and felt hollow. opened it up. 40% of the bottom of the whole container had no battery inside.

tons of frustrations with them. tons of fake tracking where the item says delivered but you never received a message it has arrived to the country.

yes, you mosly are "ok" when you buy safe items, but many many scammers.

make sure you put your phone on a small tripod to videotape the package as you open it. then erase the clip if its ok. I bought a fuel siphon pump. placed batteries in it, and it didnt work so I had proof for money back. otherwise theyd say i broke it

they have removed the eva chat window so you have to fish for it.
they made using the site horrible. true enshitification

the search is completely broken. its a horrible expereince. I dont like amazon and some things I prefer to just go that direction. free returns, never any arguments and its all stress free. temu is garbage too. if alx would control and punish the scamming sellers, then buyers would feel more confident to buy. its an easy and pleasurable experience with amazon because I know amazon has my back always. with alx if I have an issue, most likely they make you go through hoops if theyll even refund you. btw, when you open a dispute, they want "proof" of pictures or video. with amazon, they dont have this. you drop off the item at a local store and done. money back when they pick it up. with alx you need to send them proof because they are not trustting of you. I tried to send a video as proof of an item and they sabotage you by not letting you upload. its broken. 2 devices, 3 brows, no good. its just a shetty experience all the way through. many times packaging has no padding at all.

I hope amazon open a competition site like alx. its what I heard is in the works.

Many years ago I ordered a few led bulbs before they were cheap like now.

This was for my brothers bookshelves.

They sent me 2 knockoff apple plastic usb mouses. So shit they were like not even disposable fork quality plastic.
I got a refund.

Ali is good though for some things like older pc parts and random stuff like that.

I have ordered a few times from Aliexpress and have had mostly bad experiences, I will not order from there again.

I recieved more then once broken or not working items and did not get a refund, or have any chance to exchange them.

Aliexpress sellers are selling knock offs or factory seconds, thirds or even worse quality. The electronic items are not certified for use in the US or EU. I had one literally catch on fire after plugging it in.

I've bought a lot of stuff from Ali Express and not had any issues so far, and that includes any electronics I have bought.
Read the details and don't buy obvious junk.
