Hi all,

NOvember was an awful for me and my family. We all had covid and i had to be my father's nurse. He is elderly but we were so LUCKY that he recovered. I also had a tough time (actually at some point worse than my father) and it took me around 20 days to recover. This experience along with lockdown (this year we have been in lockdown for over 90 days) and problems at work made me want to splurge on myself and start PC gaming again. I think timing-wise the new GPUs and CPUs make building a PC 4k feasible. I have done extensive research and i have a few questions.

A: timing-wise I believe the only "danger" is the 3080 ti. unfortunately, I have already purchased the 3080.
The PC will be built for working from home (i do not do any rendering or anything CPU heavy) and will be used on weekends for Heavy PC gaming since i believe we will be at home for many months to come. The Monitor supports HDMI 2.1 and would love to play games in 4k at best settings. Also the PC will all be RGB.

My budget is TOP specs at the best affordable price.

CPU: Ryzen 5800x. No discussion here. I wanted to give AMD a chance. Zen3 seems to hit all the good spots and it is PCI gen4 ready. The top tier ryzen 9 doesn't provide any value for me as a gamer

PC CASE: Inter tech Infini2.
It is the only case that support led rgb infinity mirror. I wanted it white but my pc supplier doesn't carry that SKU

MOBO: ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X570 HERO: most of my PCs had ASUS. they never had any problems. Gigabyte and MSI had mobo problems. Formula is too expensive and Dark hero is not available

PSU: CX Series™ CX750F RGB: corsair? good eough and i think 750 is more than enough. Also RGB!

AIO: H100i ELITE CAPELLIX: read great reviews, SILENT, and RGB and NEW

SSD: AORUS NVMe Gen4 SSD : Gen 4 and affordable also has a heat sink. samsung 980 plus is not available

GPU: EVGA FTW3 ULTRA 3080: OK i got a 3080 and not AMD because i think 3080 is more future proof. It has ray tracing and DLSS and in most games it is still an nvidia victory. 6090XT and 3090 are just TOO expensive. if i knew i could get a 3080 ti i might have delayed a bit for 3,5 months but i believe 3080 is a good enough card

RAM: XTREEM ARGB DDR4: best rgb module i have seen! the only problem i do not know which module is more suited to zen 3 regarding timings and Mhz. i opted for the 3200mhz with 14 latency.

So my question to you guys is this PC OK? or have i made a mistake and i should correct it before it is too late?

Well, I personally would not buy any of that ugly shiny RGB stuff. But for anyone who likes it, it might be ok.

But on the tech site its sound. Zen 3 plus 3080 is a good combination if you want high end gaming and play current RT supported games. If you want to save some bucks you could even go 5600x and x550. At the moment 6 cores are enough, but with 8 you may be better suited for the future. x570 will give you no advantage over x550 as long as you wont put more than one Gen4 NVME SSD in that mashine.

Dont cheap out on the PSU, 750 Corsair is ok but not "more than enough" like you put it. The 3080 is very hungry.

As for the memory, if you were to drop out of that RGB nightmare, you had better options to chose from.

For my take, I think that you have a perfectly fine build there but as you seem to be going for a RGB build, you could try looking for an RGB SSD or at least find an RGB SSD heatsink. How much for it all is this gonna cost you?
Dont cheap out on the PSU
Boy, does this word-by-word phrase gets thrown around lately. It's fine to go for an inexpensive PSU as long as it's a well-reviewed model from a well-reputable brand with at least 80 Plus Bronze certification.

That Corsair 750 Watts should be "good enough" for is 320 Watts TDP RTX 3080 graphics card even with all his "bling-bling-esque" build. The bare minimum for an average setup paired with 3080 is 600 Watts. 650-700 Watts is the recommended rating for 3080 with a slightly more powerful build.

No! There is no need to waste money on a more powerful PSU when that 750 Watts Corsair PSU is good enough for your build unless you want a quieter fan but the noise will likely be drowned out by other fan noise.
