Alright, before tonight I was able to boot into Vista because it used the ntldr thing to decide which one I wanted to boot in (Vista worked, my XP 64 would get to the sign in screen and then nothing would happen). Well let us just say that I was doing some backing up of my Xbox 360 so I needed to reformat the C drive that had my version of xp 64 on it. I reformated and installed Windows XP on it (with sp2). Ive upgraded to SP3 and have restarted. Anyways this is my problem...I can no longer choose which installation to boot into. I want to be able to choose to go into Vista but I dont have the option. Ive tried using the Dos prompt following some tricks from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919529 but it keeps telling me that the commands are not valid Win 32 applications. (I have to pull it off the DVD Drive where the media for Vista is located). So Im basically in a pickle.
Does anyone know of a way to fix my boot issue (MBR how to get to it or edit it, boot.ini (winboot.ini same as MBR how to get to it or edit it) or any way to fix it which doesnt have me reformat all the info and programs on my other Drive (which is D: in XP but in Vista its shown as K) and reinstall Vista?
