Alter Dell GPU bios for better performance?

I had no problems upgrading my psu and fans for this XPS 8930 from Dell. The PSU is now 600W up from 450w.

However, my 8930 was purchased with a GTX 1080 graphics card that I now find out is throttled to 180W down from 198W and 1607Mhz down from 1785Mhz I'm assuming to make room for the small PSU they used.

From reading, it seems that using another manufacturer vbios in this card could brick the card. Is there a way to remove the restrictions on power/Mhz?

Thanks!

Your card can be pushed to 217w with MSI Afterburner according to the database.

If you want more, check out the following thread:

Make sure to save the original BIOS in case something goes wrong.

Thanks so much. I knew there had to be more info I was missing. I usually don't have too much trouble finding in search, but was getting bupkiss due to wrong lingo most likely. Thanks again!
