just wanted to add, i am really scrupulous when its about installing any software on this lap (fresh x64 win7 usually i am reinstalling it 3 times a year), so i am not considering any malwares inside (just did malware check, and it is free of any of that, as it says lol)

i wouldnt find it strange if usb disconnecting (because i just dont care, its 4 years old laptop mostly for entertainment), noise would appear any time, anywhere. the only thing what makes it strange - i hear it whenever i approach on come close to laptop. no touching whatsoever. always. as i said, its like somebody knows when its safe to do their stuff and when not. this behaviour i started to see like for a month and a half now.

i will take a look at eventlog and keep tracking any unusual activities out there later. thanks a lot again mates

I've been having a similar issue for the past few weeks: when i turn my computer on, it will make the "device connected/disconnected" Windows sounds. Sometimes once, sometimes twice, sometimes not. Without me doing anything else than pressing the PC power button. Not touching mouse or keyboard. I was assuming some Windows update may have messed something..?

I agree, but that's a big "IF" because finding everything is not as easy as it should be. Developers hide their code in all sorts of places - which I don't understand. It should be standardized. I might suggest running Autoruns to see what is running, and to see what is or has been scheduled to run. Most folks will be amazed how long the lists are.
