there was a review on 3x2 and every fps game had the same problem u can see your crosshair so aiming is a bitch and with a sniper rifle in some games u have to guess where your aiming so its pretty much fail BECAUSE of the bezels and most ppl using 3x2 keep it in ___ format where eyefinity advantage is \__/

I'll go Eyefinity with 3 panels when I can afford 2 more that are H-IPS. No way I'm buy low grade monitors. I'll stick with one until I can do it well.

Silly for gaming, but extremely useful for work. I can see myself using six monitors. I could have definitely used them when writing my thesis. There were times when I had 10 or 12 .pdf journal articles up that I was trying to work my way through it would have been nice to have more monitors.

If it was for just that kind of work, wouldn't there be cheaper solutions available?

Wow they may not do much during, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odcDlsXkKbo, this video shows how u can get one good screen going...assuming it is eyefinity. and while it may not be that important today, you can be assured that it will become more essential in the next few years. Youtube also has a video demonstrating about 12 screens on a flight simulator, and it seems like this willl perform best on simulations and work for the time being.

1x30" monitor +$1300.xx (real cheap one)
3x24"=72" monitor for ~$750.xx :rockout:

Also more then 6 monitors could be nice for flight simulator...

I don't think eyefinity is stupid , but I don't think its great either, 3 moniters looks ok but 6 just looks stupid for gaming, it should be used for other crap, I mean instead of buying 6 monitors you could just go buy a nice massive LED HDTV 1080p and it wouldnt put any strain on your video card and no crappy bezels in the way! having 6 moniters would be good for a security camera setup.

Its all personal preference. I'd love to have 3x2 for general use (photoshop, audio production etc) but for gaming, I'd probably be very comfortable with 3x1. I dont particularly like issues with bezels.

Your comparison is flawed. That's 3 low quality 24" panels vs one high quality 30". Use 3 24" monitors with the same quality of panel that's in the 30" (IPS panel), and it costs right around $1800.

even worst then i thought still cheaper to buy 3x24" which give you 72" wide , better then a smaller "tiny" 30" wide monitor....

Still wider with 3x24" monitors then 1x30" monitor

Also with 3 monitors you can put 2 on the side & one in front of you & have a more "real" view with race games

Yeah, but it's still $500 more expensive if you wish to retain the same image quality. I'm just saying that it's not cheaper if you want the same image quality. Never said 3 monitors was a bad idea. Quit being so defensive.

wait until they can manufacture curved monitors cheaply.. then it may be possible to have 360degree eyefinity.. or at least 180+ now that is epic :rockout:

also 3 x 1080p tv eyefinity is freaking epic.. im actually planning a set up with three 52" 1080ps , a gaming couch with joystick and steering wheel and pedals / flaps ect... its going to be epic.. getting my eye 6 here monday :rockout:

I agree, and DisplayPort no less (the technology only Apple has painfully adapted). Nevermind the part where running 6 displays at 2560x1600 on a single card, you can't do anything much more intensive than Solitaire to not bog it down. If you need six displays, you're better off getting three cards. At least you wouldn't be laying on a bed of nails over DisplayPort if you did.

My HP monitor has DisplayPort, as do a bunch of Dells. Other makers, too. There are plenty of them on the market.

The ostendo is a 43 inch LED with an aspect ratio of 32:10. The native res is 2880x900. So 3 ostendos mean 129" inches. :O

I don't think eyefinity will ever be that big outside of an office or a Flight school or enthusiast groups

slightly curved 21:9 displays would be nice and could add a nice 3d effect
seems to me a more practical approach
