has anyone tried this im outta idea's im gonna wait about 2 weeks just incase i fry it so i can buy a new cpu if this doesn't work. I did this back in the day with my athlon XP to get the vid i needed, but is it still safe, also how does windsor handle 1.55V?

i've taken my windsor to 1.6 while daredevil oc'ing.. temps got hot though, they were like 65ish under load on my thermaltake blue orb... i usually just use to 1.4 to hit my cpu barrier (2.85)

why dont you just use your bios to raise the voltage, and imma check if this site i know has the am2 mods.

you can try this: http://www.ocinside.de/go_e.html?ht...workshop/am2pinmod/amd_socket_am2_pinmod.html

its socket am2, but says athlon, so.......

yes thats the site im refering to, the reason is simple

my bios locks me at +.05V and undervolts my chip at stock to 1.2V instead of stock 1.25V so i have to use my +.05V to run at stock voltage. I got an EE because i thought it would be a good OC'er im starting to think i was wrong

i gots an EE too :p... yeah mine sucks balls because its an older revision, whats your revision in cpuz? mine is jh-f2

That ECS 580X is terrible for Overclocking. I got 3.2GHz out of my Rev. F2 Athlon 5200+ with 1.4 volts on this K9A2 Platinum, and I was unable to push it past 2.8GHz on my old ECS 580X.
Oh, and Windsors can handle 1.5-1.6 volts without much problem... although you will need good cooling.

revision BH-F2

revision BH-F2

The F2 revision is gonna hold your OC back a bit. They don't clock as well. Most top out around 2.8GHz. As far as voltage, doesn't that board let you undervolt? I thought mine did. Just do the pin mod, and undervolt it. I really wouldn't go past 1.5V for 24/7 usage. That seems to be the safe limit for Windsors and Brisbanes alike. Obviously some chips will handle it better than others, but unless you can afford a new cpu, it's not worth the risk.
