Which one? I have a 555 unlocked to a 955. Something better than that?

I like this board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128565
This is about the only AM3+ MB that has a heatsink on the VRMs.

That looks like a good but but I need I need to use the 1x slot and that doesn't look like it will be possible with a a dual slot video card installed.

From what I've seen, there aren't any (so far from my findings) m-ATX AM3+ motherboards that have a PCIe x1/x4 or second PCIe x16 slot that is in the right place for what you suggested in an earlier post. And as @sttubs said, there is only a couple with a VRM heatsink. What do you require the PCIe x1 slot for? If its for a wireless network adapter, then I am aware of PCI versions which work equally fine, or you could just use a USB wireless adapter.

I personally think that a small form factor AM3+ build isn't very convenient, as the chipsets are quite low-end for the m-ATX boards. For budget PC builds, I would be more inclined towards an AMD APU FM2+, or a Core i3 for m-ATX form factors.

The 1x slot is needed for a Wifi adapter. I would just purchase a PCI one but I already have an Intel advanced-n 6205 which works very well (and picks up a good signal). The USB adapters I have can barely pickup anything at the distance the computer will be from the router. I was trying to build something cheap for my brother using existing parts but as you mentioned the AM3+ microATX boards leave a lot to be desired so I may end up just getting an FM2 board/cpu [probably x4 750k].
