ok, for my late information
just know that msi gonna launch a new am3+ slot 970 gaming mb
(not sure is this the first am3+ mb design for gaming but ya, its cool)

bad new is , i just build my new rig with msi gaming 5....

really hope the msi 970 gaming price dont be so cheap, or cheap than gaming 5
(i used to be the amd chip user, so...i may feel really bad..)

well, I always think, for the gaming issue, intel and nvidia have better performance
and amd is just cheap and .... maybe for office use

so kinda suprise msi will have a gaming mb for am3+

here is the link for 970 gaming mb

They put the word "gaming" in the title of their motherboard and it can be used for gaming.. Just like most other motherboards. It's a marketing "feature".

i dont think like intel got more power and amd just for basic need
if you need more power you can go to intel but its pricey, amd has little lower power and it tagged lower

and gaming or like that, i just think its like new marketing ground

I like the looks of the board, but wouldn't buy it. The setup I have now will last me till 2016 and then I'm going for an intel build.

See I like this motherboard purely because its one of the first times I have seen dual x8 Crossfire/SLI available on the 970 chipset. Its a shame they didn't get PCIe 3.0 lanes, as AFAIK the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX/Gen3 R2.0 is the only AM3+ motherboard I've seen with PCIe 3.0.
