Amazon Prime - One question...

I hope I have the right forum for this question....I looked over the forum titles carefully and not really of them fit my question all that well.

So...here we go.

I have a family member that wants to sign up for Amazon Prime on their Roku 3 and they asked me this question...I can't find an answer.

"Do I still have to spend $35 on orders to qualify for free shipping if I sign up for Amazon Prime"?

Anyone know the answer to this question...or can point me to where the answer is, I'd be appreciative.

Nope, all prime eligible purchases get the free two day shipping, or better yet, next day air for $3.99. Also, your family member can give the free/overnight shipping deal to three relations for their purchases on their Amazon account, so hopefully you will be one of them.

I have netflix and hulu+, is Amazon's tv/movie selection comparable? I can only afford two(limited budget) is Amazon better or just as good as the others? I might try it myself. Frankly, I'm a big fan of Amazon I might give it a go as well.

you still got to pay for the newer tv shows from this season and last season for most networks from 1.99 to 2.99 in HD but there are alot of free tv shows and movies to watch for free with prime

The movie selection is comparable to Netflix, Redbox? I actually like the idea that I can add a season of a TV series 'if I want to'.

Just a slight correction, overnight shipping (One Day) on most Prime products is $3.99, however, its no longer a flat rate. Large and heavy items have much higher overnight rates. A couple months ago I purchased a cat back exhaust for my brother and overnight Prime was $19. That said, that is still a complete STEAL for overnight shipping on a ~50lb item in a box large enough for a man to hide in

As far as Prime Video- there is a lot of overlap with Netflix. I have both and rarely use Amazon Prime video unless its for exclusives (yeah, I was 'forced' to watch Under the Dome) or for the Amazon Original Series and Pilots.

Other added perk to Amazon is Amazon Prime Music, tons of free music to download without commercials, etc. I listen to the music from the Prime Music App on my Android phone.
