iZ3D Inc., designer, developer and pioneer of advanced stereoscopic 3D visualization systems, is pleased to announce its recently released 3D monitor driver Version 1.09 is the first to include support for AMD with an ATI 3D DLP output.

To encourage 3D game play using ATI Radeon graphics cards, iZ3D is offering all ATI Radeon graphics card users a US $50.00 rebate on the purchase of an iZ3D monitor. After installing the iZ3D monitor and driver, ATI Radeon graphics card users have 30 days to complete a simple form online and submit it to iZ3D to get the rebate. The rebate promotion is being promoted online and will be included in ATI Radeon graphics card packages and in-store at select retailers. For more information visit 3D Rulez or iZ3D.

"We appreciate the visual experience and excitement that is driving the trend towards 3D graphics," said Godfrey Cheng, director of technical marketing, graphics products group, AMD. "3D gamers, designers and home theater enthusiasts will appreciate the sophistication that the ATI Radeon series of graphics cards will bring to the world of 3D. Our cards enable a feature-rich, 3D gaming and home theatre experience, especially when used in conjunction with an iZ3D 22-inch widescreen 3D display solution."

iZ3D's 3D stereoscopic monitors, glasses, and software drivers deliver significant advantages over other 3D display systems. Gamers that want to experience spectacular game graphics will appreciate playing in stereoscopic 3D. Graphic artists have already embraced the iZ3D monitor as an essential tool for 3D design since it is difficult to create 3D images while viewing the design in a flat 2D environment. Movie buffs will be able to experience the immersive thrill of watching a 3D movie at home what has been only available in theaters.

"We're on a mission to bring 3D into the mainstream. Combining the blazing fast speeds and breathtaking graphics from a high-end ATI Radeon graphics card with savings on your own personal iZ3D 22-inch widescreen monitor and get a gateway to the world of 3D. AMD's selection of iZ3D's stereoscopic 3D display solution demonstrates their vision and understanding that the future of graphics is a fusion of great hardware and software. iZ3D is a true pioneer in developing great 3D imaging drivers and hardware for the gaming community," remarked Thomas Striegler, CEO of iZ3D Inc.

iZ3D developed this unique display technology to create an adjustable 3D environment without causing eyestrain, spatial disorientation, or headaches. The monitor, which is optimized for 3D viewing, can also be easily toggled into a 2D mode when required for productivity applications or email. In 3D mode, viewers see bright, sharp 3D images or video simply by wearing any of eight iZ3D passive polarized glasses. Existing PCs equipped with an ATI Radeon graphics card or most dual-output video cards easily powers the display. Specifications include: 1680 x 1050 resolution; up to 170-degree 3D viewing angle; 5ms response time; 700:1 contrast ratio; 16.7-million colors; and 300 nits.

The iZ3D Version 1.09 S-3D driver is compatible with DirectX PC games running on 32-bit or 64-bit Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems. Most PC games released in the last five years, including many of the most popular multiplayer online, first person shooter, and role-playing games, have already been designed for 3D displays. iZ3D's optimized driver unlocks the third (depth) dimension of these 3D-ready games to allow gamers to finally play them as they were written - in 3D.

Availability and Pricing
The iZ3D 22-inch monitor has a manufacturers suggested resale price of $399.00 is currently available at online stores including Staples, Newegg, Amazon, PC Mall, CriticalBuy, iZ3D, and other online shopping sites. iZ3D will be announcing in-store retail availability of the 3D gaming monitor soon.

The iZ3D Version 1.09 Driver is available at iZ3D. The standard iZ3D S-3D output and anaglyph output are included with the purchase of an iZ3D monitor. The exclusive ATI 3D DLP output is free to AMD customers. All other drivers can be purchased at $49.99 per output.

the no SLI or CF kinda puts me off on this deal, altho I realy have not seen this type of 3d in action, might be worth it even with out SLI or CF.

Sounds interesting, the CF is a big hit, but really I would see the no 64 bit OS as an even bigger hit. Alot of people run 64 bit OS's.

By their website they support 64 bit OS. Not Dual card solutions though due to Nvidia and AMD have all but one DVI port off on the cards. The monitor here uses/needs 2 DVI hooked up and working for the effect (2 physical LCD screens). It seems somewhat interesting, and they have come down a lot in price lately. There do seem to be issues with ghosting currently, but they seem to have a newer set of glasses in the works to make it a fair bit better.

That's all from their web site. I would have probably bought one to try except I am looking to get another graphics card first. That and the wife asked what I was going to do with the new monitor I have, heh.

Like me. I like the coolness factor but there is at least one great reviewer on the egg who gives alot of info on it. Still its an interesting concept that now ATI is on board to help alleviate some of the problems

All these great ideas put into motion by them, and they saddle it with a Tn-Film panel. No thanks, I'll pass.
