Look I like AMD but my computer is rotting flesh...990FX isn't cutting it.
I've been waiting for the "1090fx" that never came.
AMD's system is like 8 years old.
It gets beaten by even the I3 cpu's and the Zen is maybe a I5....I'm f***ing pissed.

Even their videocard drivers are GARBAGE.
I'm sorry to be negative but this is too little, too late.

Look at this graph...the fm2+ Athlon it the top chip, not the 990fx platform.
wtf kinda company buys a gpu company and then screws its enthusiast base and builds a new useless socket with a apu....and the cards they do make get drivers that crash and a control panel thats a gutted POS.

This isn't a directed at the OP or anyone here but AMD

Dude, drivers reporting crashes is a sign your system is fucking unstable. Verify your BIOS settings are correct. And AMD can not help it that your PC is 8 years old so STFU.

Just a hint, the Zen is running at just 1700 MHz...

This "review" was released on 01 April 2016. Does it say anything to you guys? ;) If not read the comments, reviewer clearly admitted it was April fools joke.

Then why is being posted in a thread in the middle of god damn June if it's known to be Aprils Fools "joke" ?
Because person who posted it here:
1. Can't read in Russian and never heard of Google Translate
2. Found few pics and decided to share them without even reading all article
3. Trolling.

Edit: link to full review

Then, do Google Image search for this picture from review:

Example of Stable- My Rig- no driver crashes- Max OC on Air for me, needs water at 5.2GHz

I might be late to the party....or at the wrong party....but is that an ide connection on this board and does Amd now use the same style socket as intel? Or is this the just internet magic again....i need some coffee.

Totally awake now and realizing. ...ive been punked

Intel, AMD new CPU platforms target January 2017 launch
Monica Chen, Taipei; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 7 June 2016]
Market watchers originally expected Intel and AMD to launch their new CPU platforms in the third and fourth quarter, respectively, to help boost PC demand in the second half, but both CPU makers have recently postponed their launch schedules to January 2017 at CES 2017 since the upstream supply chain still has serious inventory issues, and market demand has been slow.

Intel's Kaby Lake platform was originally scheduled to launch at the end of the third quarter and AMD's Zen architecture in the fourth. Related brand vendors have been aggressively clearing their inventory of older-generation models and preparing for the new products since May, but will need to delay the plans as both CPU makers have postponed their launches.

Since most vendors still have Skylake and Haswell-based inventory waiting to be digested, while the Kaby Lake architecture does not feature any major improvements from the previous-generation architectures, Intel is not in a hurry to release Kaby Lake-based CPUs until early 2017.

AMD's Zen architecture is produced by Globalfoundries' 14nm process and chipsets are designed by Taiwan-based players. However, the platform is also expected to be delayed until January 2017.

With the delays, the PC supply chain will not be able to begin mass production for the next-generation products until November or December and PC demand is also unlikely to pick up until the first quarter of 2017.

Well, that's a bummer but not surprising. AMD has revealed very little about Zen so there's no way it was going to launch this year. Kaby Lake being delayed as well works in AMD's favor.

Well I see it this way, IF Zen is going to be the big push for AMD, I personally havent got any reason not going back, if it can lay down my I7-5820K in a multicore preformance, then Im back at AMD again.

I'll be going Zen for sure. The PCI lanes are now going to be on the chip like Intel correct?

I'm excited to see how well they will overclock. I want 16 threads @ 5ghz.

Bummer, had a feeling launches would be delayed until Q1 2017. The lifespan I'm pushing my 7970 and i7-950 to is growing longer and longer. Hope they can hold out.

you should be fine at 1080p for a while longer. Not to mention doesn't that just give you more time to save up?

It's not about having enough money, as much as timing the new build to get the most longevity out of it. I've always been very frugal about how I do things. Especially with gaming hardware, now that a lot of games launch in such horrible condition. I cringe at what some must feel like when their $2000+ rigs are subject to such low quality releases.

CPU's hardly need upgrades anyway if you go with the high end route. When I had Core i7 920 I had it for roughly 5 years. Single motherboard and CPU. But I've changed 6 graphic cards in that time. I'm expecting the same situation with Core i7 5820K.

For AMD Zen, if you'll take the highest (or higher) model, it should last similarly long imo. But if you're a gamer, you'll have to replace at least 2-3 graphic cards in period of roughly 5 years. If you value visuals and you can't stand games with decreased details.
