Is it normally an ATI address to download from? The guy Boneface said he's dl'ed it and installed but there is no driver...

Dont it seem that the "Graphic" score's are slightly lower? But that's also with in a margin of error

That prompted me... the 3DMark score is actually only 1.6% higher. The physics score is roughly 5% higher.

But we don't care about scores. We care about smoothness.

Way to go, if they keep up with this and move it over on the 9K series they may have a win on next generation.

AMD really is taking this issue seriously. I just got an email from them notifying me that the driver was out. I am sure anyone else on their mailing lists should have got the same email.

Nice job there letting people know it's out, AMD, really, nice job!


Sadly, I have found a few issues, but I want to see if anyone else finds problems before I report my findings, kinda rushing stuff here testing 4 different systems at once, so I'm not comfortable with the 13.8 results I got so far.

The only game I have tested and played through is Far Cry 3 (I know, I got into it late). Anyway, the game used to have horrible stutter issues, even when I turned some settings down abit. There were other issues too with it, like some occasional corruption here and there, but that was nothing to playing through the tremendous stuttering I had.

I just installed the driver and played through for about an hour at least, and there is no longer any stuttering. I forgot to load FRAPS when I loaded the game, so I don't know what my reported fps was, but I know that it was very smooth running fully maxed out in dx11.

I did notice an occasion graphical corruption, just like I had prior to this, that goes away in an instant, but I can live with that to be honest. I'll continue to test it out, and later when I get a chance, I should run some benches too and post them.

I had the exact same. Really good to hear it's gone! Though going to a single super gpu also fixed it

and dave, about that maybe nvidia holds some frame pacing patent ... it might be so, because this seems too simple thing to miss while developing drivers

That is so awesome that its working. I am really happy for AMD and the possibility of acquiring a second 7970 that might actually be worthwhile. AMD has the best value for the money with the 7970 Ghz and the 7990 isn't much of a flagship if it can't run smooth.

I still have to test my crossfired 7850 setup, one of the cards has been RMA'd (powercolor 7850) so its been delayed.

For the the guru DL it didnt have the driver, grabbed to one off amd and it shows up now

If you're using CrossFire, don't hesitate to use them. So far I've tested GRID 2 and it's better, though it really wasn't bad before. Bioshock Infinite is way better and I even gained some points in Firestrike for 3dmark.

What is missing now and coming in next update is frame pacing support for DX9 and eyefinity.

Happy days nearly eh , i just finished benching five series xfired with the previous opengl4.3 betas (13.6?? beta not2 but x??) and they are quicker then 13.6 beta 2 but importantly 13.8 betas are mostly all new as far as info goes nearly there finally installing them but damn its late

I got slightly lower benchmark results but there's a noticeable improvement in all the 3dmark (new) benches even the graphs show it
