It was a client system. But I am thinking of going with a 2920X for my personal system. What's holding me back is Windows 7 support.. So I might be stuck with an older Xeon until issues with Windows 10 can be worked out..
Understood can't say I blame you

Good. Now TR3 starts from 24c48t, no more of that stupid 8 core HEDT stuff.

Looking forward to TR3, based on review i may finally go with a good 32c64t as my home computer.

uh, excuse me? useless 8 core hedt.... uhm. NO!! i get 64 pcie lanes, (2x16, 2x8, +3x m.2/pcie x4 NVMe slots,(plus could add more with x8 dual m.2 card in one of the 2 x8 slots @ (x4x4 mode)or raid a 4x nvme in a x16 (4x4x4x4) mode with 4x m.2 card slots) which nvme ssds is the reason i got my 1900x and was cheap, @ the time any way,(pcie lane count &quad channel ddr4 were top2 reasons, i can also upgrade to 32core 2nd gen, maybe even 3rd gen if amd arnt douche bags!! but now its even cheaper for 8c tr4 system, plus you get Quad-Channel DDR4 @ up to 3600+, (flair x 3200 c14 -14,14,14,34- set at xmp 3600mhz Oc @ cl 16- 16,18,18,18,38 timings 3600mhz x4 8gb ddr4 dimms) and my 1900X clocks (OC) to 4.2ghz all cores/threads @ 1.38v (water cooled)CM tr4 aio/ Not enermax aio junk.

tr4 16 core will not clock to 4.2ghz all cores/threads .. MT will be better if even clocked @ default. but ST on my Oc cpu will be higher than tr4 12/16 core// and i still get really high MT perf.

i know its not intel 5ghz oc so f*****g what, dont care bout shit-in-tell!!! it serves my propose/ and games just fine with a 1080 / 1080 ti... waiting on my RMA'd 1080 ti....
