According to X-Bit labs, we may see an entirely new naming scheme for all processors coming out of AMD's factories. A basic run-down of how the changes would re-name current and future products...

In the long term, this new naming nomenclature will make things a lot easier for customer, retailer, and manufacturer alike. However, in early 2008, when this naming scheme might take effect, it could cause some confusion.

    Those new names suck.

    :)

Stick to Athlon, maybe make the new quad known as 'Titan' core, it just sounds ghetto (and overpowering)...

Hmm, no Phenom x2? Because the triple cores don't come out until march and I don't think I'll be able to afford a Phenom x4 at launch, I guess I'll still be in the Athlon x2 arena.

Have to say one of my least favorite things is trying to learn all these naming conventions by all the companies. Why couldn't they just say x for single x2 for dual, x3 for triple, and x4 for quad. But maybe I'm just a simple man :p

Yea.. gotta agree. But, a chair with a leg lopped off is a stool. So it can't be ALL bad..
