CrossFire users can now get their hands on a new pack of Catalyst Application Profiles, courtesy of AMD of course. This fresh release is called 12.9 CAP 1 and brings the following updates:

- World of Warcraft - Mist of Pandaria (DX11, DX9): Fixes texture flickering observed when enabling high graphics settings with CrossFire enabled
- World of Warcraft - Mist of Pandaria (DX9): Resolve corruption when enabling Anti-Aliasing through the Catalyst Control Center (Anti-Aliasing should be enabled through the applications settings)
- World of Warcraft - (DX9): Resolves performance issues observed with the 64-bit variant of the client
- Tribes Ascend: Improves CrossFire performanceen running in CrossFire mode
- F1 2012: Improves CrossFire performance, resolves texture flickering in reflections

The 12.9 CAP 1 can be downloaded from this page.

Interesting to see a CAP "ahead" of a driver version wise. I guess it would be pretty safe to assume the 12.9's will be dropping shortly.

Doesnt improve anything for me so i shall stick with 12.8 Cap2's for the time being... Unless they tweaked borderlands 2 or Guildwars 2 performance (that game does make my 6970s chug sometimes, specially in the mist/haze heavy areas or big group events)

And just a heads up, I do my best to check daily and keep my thread (here) with the latest CAPS. Also, over the last couple weeks, AMD has had a some BETA drivers come out, so I think we are pretty close to a new Driver.

I have highlighted the spelling mistake you have done please fix it.
because i don't know what "performanceen" means or maybe you are trying to write "performance seen"?

On a lark I clicked on the release notes for the 12.8 drivers.

On a further lark, I changed the URL from
"AMDCatalystSoftwareSuiteVersion128ReleaseNotes.aspx" to
"AMDCatalystSoftwareSuiteVersion129ReleaseNotes.aspx"

SUCCESS!!! 12.9 Beta Release Notes.

Are these CAPs basically patches on top of the standard driver package?

EDIT:-
Nevermind, decided to not be lazy and it appears CAPs are for Crossfire users.

Majority of CAP fixes are for Crossfire setups, but with the last few the have done some more single cards fixes. Considering the installed size of them being less than 1MB I think, won't hurt to do on a single card.
