I see that nobody posted leak benchmark result from geekbench in TPU
if this highly doubtful $100 price tag is real, then this is insane, it might canibalizing own AMD current product stack and rendering entire Intel CPU line up obsolete
take this news with tons of salt

I'd say you'd need a truck of salt for this one.

although it's only geekbench, its more than enough to gives us glimpse of what Ryzen 3k series capable of.
computex is less than 24 hours, everything (?) will be revealed soon enough

Geekbench is garbage. I can only hope people will ever stop using it or care about it.

Sounds BS, I expect at least $150~200 price at launch. What do you think will happen to current 2600/x stock if a chip at half TDP & more IPC+OC(?) headroom launches at half the price o_O

well, this time Lisa showcase the silicon redesign AND manufactured in 7nm in CES,
unlike Ryzen 2000 which is clearly stated as 12 nm refresh with no changes in uarch

the same system also posted a result on userbenchmark with the 12core chip. there are 2 tests of the 12 core parts now and one benchmark is with 1333mhz single channel and one is with 1600mhz duel channel ram. intersting to see the latency on these by just running duel channel and an extra 300mhz. latency looks like it should be in the sub 50s with the new parts when running at ram speeds of 3200 or more.

So Intel decided it had to pre-empt things...

That's pretty desperate, rest in peace TDP and AVX frequency. Thing is if AMD closes in on single core frequency this is mostly a wasted effort, that is the last bastion Intel has and that people care about.

@chaosmassive Sorry to burst your bubble and everyone else´s , why would AMD release a chip that cost a THIRD the price of the top tier chip right now and OUT PERFORM it?
If we take this from a realistic side Approach , 3-5%+ IPC top tier chips with boost will hit around 4,8ish 4,4 all cores. Price wise the 16c will be above 300$ easily the 12c will be around the 250-300$ maybe more to not make the 2700x irrelevant. You wouldn´t place or price a new product in a way that makes every other product from you irrelevant to potential buyers .

Look at the history, what can we expect? The 2600X beats the 1700X in Geekbench, that's a fact.

The 2600X dominates 18 benchmarks in TPU's review, while the 1700X wins 9, they tied in one benchmark. (Game summary for each resolution counted as one benchmark.)

Does anyone expect Matisse to bring LESS improvement than Pinnacle Ridge did?

I don't see the controversy here.

The controversy comes from the fact that Geekbench shows scaling that has nothing to do with reality.

6c/12t slightly outperforming 8c/16t with just a 200mhz bump ? How the hell does that work ?

That's not true, Geekbench is fairly accurate & consistent across a variety of devices.

First of all Geekbench doesn't report clock speeds accurately, secondly SMT ~ remember how that works better on Zen than Core? With Zen 2 it'll be even better than before, then there's AVX2 as well.

Lisa su has been quoted as saying they are bringing a doubling in performance, most likely via more cores.

They can't do that and not decimate their own prior cpu's anymore then zen did FX?.

@INTEL release those TDP figures for your 5Ghz all core chip, but well done on the PR front :)

What ? Look at the comparison made above , it's about the 2600X vs 1700X. The difference in base clock between the two is of 200 mhz. The scaling is fucked up no matter how you look at it.

That's not true, geekbench is fairly accurate & consistent across a variety of devices.

"That's not true" doesn't make of a very good argument.

Check out how Samsung's Exynos chips always crush in Geekbench by a landslide but are outperformed in almost all other tests by similar chipsets. How do you explain that ?

https://www.anandtech.com/show/12520/the-galaxy-s9-review

Also , Apple's chips have better single core results compared to most current gen desktop chips from AMD and Intel, with one tenth or less of the power. Yeah, very accurate and consistent.

Fantastic, my point is not that the cpu will bomb but rather lets hold off on the parade until legit independent reviews come in.

NO, it's not only about frequency, the CPU's are from two different generations! The 2600X wins 18 out of 28 benchmarks, and ties in one, did you miss that???

Do you people just don't read what I am writing or are willingly oblivious ?

I was exclusively talking about the results that you posted in Geekbench for 2600X vs 1700X to make my point on why this benchmark is hot garbage.

Yes, and I wanted to show you that Geekbench is in line with TPU's review, posted at the same time.

It seems like it's only 1700X owners that won't believe this review.
