AMD Radeon Crimson ReLive 17.7.2 Preview

page 7, crl+f slide-50. looks like a return in the wrong place?

i so hope these don't break my 290x xD

"re"-downloading

md5.jpg match.jpg

The md5 hash matched the 1st time. Why re-download? If the hash didn't match, the file would be corrupt and execution wouldn't be possible.

which type of install are you choosing try custom and pick everything

Tried both "express" and "custom" many times.

I'd love to see a day when amd driver thread doesn't have to include DDU troubleshooter on the first page

also @VSG ... there's an issue with slide 50 on the "AMD Complete Presentation Deck" page

Just woke up, but it seems fine to me. Unless someone else fixed in the interim, mind checking out again?

Yup, fine now, someone else must have fixed it in the meantime because otherwise I'm going crazy and that's unacceptable

ReLive is missing from my control panel. Tried all kinds of installs and did many reboots.

Edit:
Another failed attempt:

I uninstalled the whole thing using Your Uninstaller!, rebooted, started the installer as admin. After the install I was NOT given the option to install Relive. After another reboot it was not there. Can anyone tell me what's going on? Why is there no separate installer for relive? If there is one please tell me. Here are before and after pics:

Having exact same issue, even tried custom install will not show relive, i already used DDU several times and it would still not show Relive. This same issue was present on 17.5.2 for me where no matter what i did Relive will just not show up or give the option to enable through the install. I will just go back to 17.7.1. This same crap from AMD over and over with their install packages.

So having looked this up further, it appears there are indeed some bugs with installation that are affecting some users. It also appears to be mostly inconsistent irrespective of hardware and OS, and is thus hard to pinpoint at this time what the fix can be aside from waiting on AMD. I'll mention this in the conclusions page as a short warning or maybe have a news post on it, let's see.

Ok i tried the AMD Minimal Setup which is a web installer, and now it works, grab it from here:

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+7+-+64

This is like the fourth Driver Package that has installation issues... for F Sake AMD... For F sake... no matter how much they try they keep failing and failing.

Yeah please do that. AMD has not replied to my tweet yet. Their social media reps don't seem to like their job. BTW, I think the problem happens if some hidden windows crapware is disabled by the user. Hard to pinpoint indeed. But AMD could at least offer a tool to check for prerequisites with their drivers, and offer to toggle them before the installation.

We'll do both then. I have added a note in the article, and a news post is coming up to alert others as well.

It indeed worked, man! I disabled ALL my security components, ran the "Express Uninstall" from the minimal setup, restarted, ran the min setup as admin, and after install I was offered to install relive:

After reboot life is happy again :p

Thanks, man. May be you should also mention this workaround for users who may face similar problem.

EDIT:

Is there any user-tweakable settings for E-sync? I don't see any "Enhanced Sync" in the control centre.

Good to know, I will add this too.

Only attempted once. Everything seems to work and appear fine as always. Didn't encounter the said issue mentioned above. Here's what I did.

Download the new driver on their website -> Clean uninstall the old driver -> Install the new one and that's it.

I initially downloaded from TPU. Did You get the full one or the Minimal Setup?

Does anyone knows if this version enables BIOS hash checking? i have a RX 460 unlocked to 1024 stream processors

I only go to the AMD site just incase they did a switcharonieeee for a bugged driver. Works great on my RX480 BUT GPU-Z @W1zzard is borked.

under the sensor tab the clocks show properly but not the on the start up app.. even on a remove and install it still shows 0 core and 0 memory :wtf:

cursor lag on a freesync monitor with CPU-z running, weird.

I sure hop AMD get this new driver figured out because it's like a bug up my ass and buggin me big time.

Anyone else having issues?

All settings work flawlessly but theres the odd glitch like 0 reading in GPU-Z and the mouse cursor lag with certain apps open.. :wtf:o_O:twitch::pimp:

New update seems to have fixed it.

Same for me, so it's not just you with the mouse cursor lag. Found it only does it in hardware monitoring programs like HWiNFO64, Wattman, and GPU-Z.

So if my monitor is 60Hz only, I should turn on FRTC to get the benefits?

Amazing it has some improvements in cpu bottleneck and faster game loads, tested Bulletstorm Full Clip Edition on rx 460 and old Athlon game looks good and fast, but still some games like crysis 2 works bad.

FRR and VRR displays? Could you maybe write in plain english without using acronyms that even Google doesn't know?

Fixed refresh rate, and variable refresh rate. These acronyms were used alongside the full spelled-out names the first time in the article, as is usually done.

Not everyone reads every article word to word :P
