Hi guys,I am just looking to "cheaply" upgrade my GPU for now.And have found two options.

ASUS HD5830
AMD Radeon HD 4870.

Which one do you think is better?

I am into gaming (not hardcore gaming) and will be looking to learn some video editing later on but soonish.I usually play around with other programs.

System is
Intel i7-920 CPU/ 2.66GHz with stock cooler.
Asus Sabertooth X58 Motherboard
460W Cooler Master PSU
8GB Gskill Ram
Sandisk Extreme SSD 240GB
Will be adding a 300GB Raptor Drive also.

Current GPU is old and belongs on my Core 2 Duo computer which I shall be selling.

Thanks:)

With your PSU (which i would upgrade asap if i were you) you should definitely get the HD5830, aside from being faster, it consumes less power than the HD4870.
