AMD Radeon HD......which one?

I for some reason unable to figure out which card i have. GPU-Z tells me its in the 7900 series and that the device id is 1002 - 679A, while googling it i found a lot of articles saying different stuff (talk about 7950 and 7970)........ can someone please just tell me what card i have lol.

also i want to go crossfire so recommendations for cards are welcome

The card should have a serial number on the board. But its a 7950

7970 clocks are 925 and 1375

alrighttt thats what i was thinking. i read that the newer AMD cards (R series?) support crossfire with older cards as long as its the same thingy, like my card is tahiti. Is this correct?

I don't understand why you ppl complicate so much. Just look at the shader count. HD7950 has 1792 shaders, HD7970 has 2048 shaders. This is something that never changes unlike countless different clocks used by different vendors...

For the exact brand or model, open the case and read the model from card itself (specific detailed model and revision on PCB)

The Visiontek is prob a Rev. 1 or maybe high leakage Rev. 2. Sapphire will be Pro2 refresh and the better card.
