Ahead of its launch, memory clock speeds of the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 6600 graphics card was leaked to the web by someone with access to a sample. GPU-Z detected the memory clocks on this card to be 14 Gbps, which is slower than the 16 Gbps clocks on the RX 6600 XT. This gives the RX 6600 about 12.5% lower memory bandwidth than its sibling (224 GB/s vs. 256 GB/s). Among the other specs detected by GPU-Z are 28 compute units, amounting to 1,792 stream processors (vs. 32 CUs and 2,048 of the RX 6600 XT); the same 8 GB memory amount and 128-bit memory bus width, and almost 2.50 GHz engine boost frequency. VideoCardz claims that in official benchmarks by AMD, the RX 6600 is shown trading blows with the GeForce RTX 3060.

Disgusting, the xt 5600 was 192bit, funny will be watching sheeps paying 1000 usd for this ehhe, where have we got, a 128 bit bus for 1k usd hehe, last year a 128 bit bus gpu was 100 usd ehhe, keep buying sheeps, help the wolves to slaughter you.

Comparing memory bus width of this RDNA gen with previous gen specs is meaningless, because it has fast cache which makes up for the narrower bus ...

I'd be surprised if this "MSRP" at under $350 and if they actually sell for less than $600 once they hit the shelves.

Comparing bus width between generations is dumb. No one is gonna pay $1000 for this. Comparing to last year when there wasn't a global shortage is dumb too. Supply and demand.

Stock alert groups help you find them at decent prices. I got a 3080FE for RRP.

There is and was no shortage, there was and is manipulation making you sheeps pay that much for gpus, where I live they are selling a rx 5600 for more than 1000 usd, yes they are paying and will pay for this crap 1k usd, hey if you got lucky dont expect others to get lucky too. Stock alert is all based on manipulation too.

Also "Comparing bus width between generations is dumb", is not, if you dont have software that needs an extra bus width for workloads then please dont make such assumptions, people dont play only games with these gpus, they do other things.

I wonder is AMD has plans to release a RX 6500? because over here in Australia, well known online stores have no AMD gpus under A$900 & supply of those are very limited, The RX 6700 is hovering well over the A$1k mark, but Nvida low end gpus a few yrs old can be bought from about A$100 up.
What a stupid market this is atm.
So glad I upgraded my gaming gpu last year!

RX6500? Looking at this 6600 they'll probably slap a 96-bit bus on it and ship it with 5-year old gddr5. I mean, 6600 already feels low end, frankly. 2 years ago it would've been a sub-200$ release, guaranteed. I know there are tons of people on rx480 stuff and older who'd get a healthy 30% improvement even out of something like even further gimped 6500, but at the prices it would actually launch today, you'll never see one for 250, or 300, or 350, so people who spend low-end money on low-end cards won't get the product they need anyway.

What work exactly? AMD's not exactly the poster of well... any work really at least on the GPU side. From my limited knowledge I can only see miners complaining about slimmer memory bus.

Folding, WCG, deep learning and many other things need higher bus width, that stupid cache does nothing to it. Also the only thing you trolls think is mining nowadays, stop thinking mining is the only thing people use their gpus nowadays.

I answered his question and you say is a low quality post, you are the one trolling my answer because I said the truth, there are other uses other than mining and gaming.

Well I simply wanted to know. Guess you’re on a short fuse today. I'll let your hand take care of you and leave you be then.

Regarding compute tasks like folding or WCG, AMD has split graphics from compute with RDNA being the graphics chip and CDNA being the compute chip. So, really, they're not targeting compute with RDNA. They already said so a while back.

I wonder is AMD has plans to release a RX 6500?
I don't think so? They already cut off a lot of CUs with the 6600 (28 out of 80), if anyone needs something even lower they probably have the 5000 series to point them to? Actually, is AMD still producing Polaris cards???

I wonder what tdp target, they are aiming at? 6600xt was 160w. This could be 125w?

@Turmania : Very close. VideoCardz has a TBP figure and it's 132W (source), however it's unclear which card was used - there will be no reference design.

Will it be faster than my Vega 64 at half the power consumption? Too bad it will cost more than I paid for my Vega 64 a few years ago.

Lol. Well done mate. Bravo.

Apps that need a high bandwidth need just that. A newer generation 128bit memory setup is faster than an old 192bit setup And faster than a much older 320bit. If they had to keep increasing the bandwidth depth over the years to achieve a higher speed we would be on 2048bit memory configs now. Comparing between generations is daft. Like comparing teraflops between different generation cards. Or frequency between different generations of cpu.

On the TPU gpu database there is listed a RX 6300 XT, this is like the low end card(s) I am referring too, I just took a guess AMD might put out a lower end card than this RX 6600. However the source for that entry on the database is from online speculation.

To give some perspective on this gpu market now....
I've just visited ebay & there are folks bidding on RX 580s for around Au$550 & up. Absolutely unbelievable in that this somewhat 5 yr old card, & no where near as good as the Nvidia cards in the top end range for that era are doing this.
I've never seen a gpu market so distorted even for old cards!
