I've been using ramdisks for a while, as I bought 16 GB back in December when I thought prices were going to be the lowest they ever would.
As most decent programs have the ability to save the contents of the ramdisk onto a separate drive, I would usually place my favorite game at the current time in it, granted that certain files or the entire game would be less than 10 GB in size. It's awesome almost having instant loading screens on various games, and with the current price of ram, it's personally worth the cost.
(Seems I was testing the ram at lower than rated speeds, oh well, still really fast)
