AMD Ryzen 1400/1600/1700 massive bottleneck in GTA 5

Just a simple question to AMD Ryzen users way does it bottlenecks so hard in GTA 5 when extended distance scaling is turned on to max ? In city, in some areas fps drops even lower than 40 fps wtf ? :confused:

No i didn't test these cpus but there are a lot of videos in youtube where i can see that fps drops pretty significantly especially when extended distance scaling is turned on.

You need a beefy gpu to enable extended distance scaling.

Fill your system specs, we don't even know what GPU you have.

No that's isn't the case i'm using gtx 1080. There are more than enough power to run that setting. Problem is cpu not gpu becouse gpu usage is low and cpu just can't handle that game at stable 60 fps.

Its not the CPU, its the GPU that has to render much more details. That's why there's a huge fps drop, I've seen this on intel i7700 systems as well.

No you are not right! Skip to 20:23 and you will see 38fps and 38% gpu usage.

That amd Ryzen bottleneck is just insane.

If the CPU is the bottleneck why is not 100% in use? To me its GPU memory going whaco. I mean, <<CPU is not 100% >> and <<GPU is not 100%>> = memory bandwith not enough. Poor optimization also.

I also don't believe in the youtubers video opinion either. As I told before, I've seen the same problem with i7 7700k.

Man, AMD ryzen is a amazing processor. Its one of the best processors for gaming among intel processors. The difference is 10% compared intel cpus in single threaded performance. We all know that. There's no way that extended distance scaling works ok on any system. If you think extended distance works ok, I want a proof of that including specs of the system running and which GPU is running and amount of memory on the GPU.

GTA 5 behaves like this regardless of hardware being used , it has limitations down to the engine. I see no issue.

Maybe somebody have AMD R5 1600 or R7 1700 syetem + GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 ? Just set all GTA 5 settings to very high at 1920x1080 except msaa that option turn off. And of corse turn on extended distance scaling to max settings! And while driving through the city at full speed watch how much fps will drop or what is minimum fps.

I have a ryzen 7 1700... but my GPU is a RX470... also I don't have the game. But if I borrow a copy I'll try to test it out. Not sure about how to make a youtube streaming and gaming at the same time, I'll check it out.

runs perfectly fine here with extended distance scaling and all other settings maxxed out, with AA, vsync on , at 4K resolution. I do use though octal channel ddr4 with gtx 1080 sli and dual xeons with 18 cpu affinity.
