Nobody gives a damn about Cinebench.
Meanwhile 7700K is killing it in games.

In games that doesn't even support more than 4 cores... awww

Sure the higher per core will win.

I have a feeling AMD intentionally kept the freqs low in order to follow the crappy and callous strategy of Intel's on releasing "new" CPUs, with only a small amount of freqs up.
And call it a new CPU.
Or it could be that AMD is still working to refine the manufacturing and binning process and as the platform improves and matures they release faster and more capable iterations of the line. That seems more likely to me. Intel, AMD, Nvidia, or any IC fab company will make something new and then as they improve it they release incrimentally fast/better versions of the technology. That is how all technology progress works. It's how it's always worked.
and Still no review from "TECHPOWERUP"..............
They're working on it. Give it a few days. I've got a sneaking suspicion that TPU's review is going to be worth the wait.

YOUR opinion. Someone like me, who games but also does a lot more with his PC, is not impressed with the 7700k because other CPU's do more, better and for less money. And to be fair NONE of Intel CPU's are "killing" the Ryzen CPU's. Beating them in some games? Yes, but not by a huge margin. So are we done with the fanboy nonsense yet?

The bastards, the cheeky bastards, what they develop something for 3 or so years then want to use it more than once ,no other chip firm does that, no wait they do.
So looking forward to hearing your comments on Nvidias and AMDs rebrands this year then and I truly await cannon lakes epic feature set and your praise there in.

I'm not sure some really do get chip tec on TPU you know.

I have spent about 15 hours getting to platform to _just_ work .. just finished the first two sets of cpu benches (2666 MHz mem and 2133 Mem).
now running the same tests on comparison systems. also reviewing gtx 1080 ti at the same time.

and honestly, i'm starting to lose interest quick, this review certainly isn't my top priority now. just go buy it. it's awesome for cinebench and blender.

Who cares?

The main point with Ryzen is IMO that AMD has made a damn good improvement between FX and this. Finally for a long time AMD is not a bad choice for enthusiasts.

Er no. There's no such thing. World Record is exactly that, the world's fastest. This isn't it. In the editorial it says beating the 6950X, and it simply hasn't, even #20 on the bot with 6950X has a higher score. The Bot rules are very clear on this. It's simply a hardware record. Details matter.
http://hwbot.org/submission/3473862_elmor_cinebench___r15_ryzen_7_1800x_2454_cb This is the score, you can see for yourself that there are no WR points there. THIS - http://hwbot.org/submission/3234137_dhenzjhen_cinebench___r15_4x_xeon_e7_8890_v4_8299_cb is the record and there are three gold cups there to indicate it, one which is for WORLD RECORD

This is important to get right, it is Digiworthy that got it wrong, amongst other things
It's an eight core world record, just for the record

I hope AMD works the bugs out quickly, market failure of Ryzen would not benefit anyone. It's very existence has lit a fire under Intel, and I hope they can turn up the heat by making it a decent option for professionals at least, if not gamers and overclockers. My next main system upgrade will be Intel, hopefully for a much lower price. Intel just works - AMD needs the same to be said of their new platform before it can be considered a serious threat, or even a viable alternative. Time for the Ryzen team to stop high-fiving each other and get busy validating hardware and optimizing firmware. Good job on the CPUs, but don't leave the job half done...

It's AMD's first 14nm chip, which is a huge jump from 28nm. Intel had also problems with their first 14nm Broadwell chips.

Anyone delid a Ryzen yet and see what the TIM is on it?

I know Intel has been using crap for awhile now. Curious if AMD cheapened too.

It is soldered.

Isn't that GPU accelerated nowadays?

yes viewport is gpu accelerated. but Mental Ray rendering is still just using CPU.
