AMD today announced SAPPHIRE Technology as its exclusive global distribution partner for AMD FirePro professional graphics. An international supplier and leading manufacturer of innovative technologies, SAPPHIRE has successfully collaborated with AMD for more than a decade, managing AMD products in various markets and acting as an AMD FirePro professional graphics channel partner in Asia.

The distribution partnership will be beneficial in driving stronger support for AMD FirePro professional graphics by delivering new distribution resources to AMD's channel ecosystem companies worldwide.

"For many years we have enjoyed a strong, productive and mutually beneficial relationship with SAPPHIRE. This new collaboration marks yet another exciting step in our award-winning AMD graphics history by opening up new markets for AMD FirePro," said David Cummings, senior director and general manager, Professional Graphics at AMD. "AMD is committed to growth in the professional graphics market, and as we build on the success of AMD FirePro, we sought out a distribution partner that would allow us to broaden our reach, support growing sales and embrace new opportunities. SAPPHIRE was the natural choice."

The company engaged SAPPHIRE to deliver focused distribution on a global basis. SAPPHIRE's experience in a variety of regions -- including more than five years in the Asia-Pacific workstation market -- enables AMD to service the needs of even larger numbers of users throughout the world.

"We are very pleased to be the primary champion for the channel," said Adrian Thompson, VP of Marketing, SAPPHIRE. "SAPPHIRE has experience in key professional markets that AMD FirePro targets including manufacturing CAD, media and entertainment, display walls and more. By strengthening our association with AMD, both companies win. We look forward to our expanded role to broaden the reach of AMD FirePro."

The distribution partnership is effective immediately, with AMD FirePro products distributed in the channel through SAPPHIRE from Oct. 1, 2013. Meanwhile, original equipment manufacturing (OEM) customers will still have the ability to purchase products directly from AMD.

IME, unless Sapphire improves it's customer support about 1,000,000 percent, they are likely to cost AMD sales, not improve sales.

This makes sense, Sapphire was ATI's distribution partner back in the day IIRC

I second this. I had a Sapphire card which I accidentally damaged while cleaning (Cracked one fin on the fan and it made this annoying noise if the fan speed went past 30%.). I sent it in and got a brand new one. The damage was really obvious i thought they wouldn't replace it but they did

In terms of computer hardware they had the some of the best customer service I've ever dealt with. Reps were quick to help and quick with my RMA. Sorry you must of had a bad experience with them.

I think depends on which country you are. In US I am guessing sapphire needs to somehow give a good support. But in asia? unlikely. But I am happy though cause in our place, sapphire has a approved service center and actually, internationally, sapphire has 2 years warranty only. But Emtek, sapphire service center in korea extend warranty to 3 years. I like their my cards now. I keep pushing these babies but they just dont die. lol....

Nowhere to be found!
Quadro had been sole player in workstation graphics with Leadtek's Winfast are only brands available. They sell Quadro NVS 300 for the same price as FirePro V3900
We just hope they didn't screw the price and mess up RMA policies

I believe he's not trolling. Many of us outside US/North America/Europe are dealing with third-party distributors,so no Representatives or some sort. This "distributors" treat customer like 5 y'o toddler whom doesn't know anything about computers.Sometime we have to pay some amount to get what we actually had in the first place. Not to mention length time needed to settle just one problem.Simply put...your card DOA it's your fault, your card tearing it's your fault, your card overheat it's your fault,oh you want to RMA it?okay just wait a couple months or pay to make the process goes couple weeks :shadedshu
