Interesting, I love to see how Bulldozer is going to perform!
We could also wait until after the event and then talk about what really happened. Well, at least that is what I am going to do.
Will you guys have specific software support? Update to AMD Overdrive, OpenCL, etc? Specific "enchancements"/"tweaks" if your CPU is used with CCC?
No Q1 release's? I was planning on buying one in Feb
A quarter is a long time. AMD can easily call for a Q2 release, but that could be in late June. That would suck. I was hoping at the very least a March to April release date. Bulldozer is definitely going to be my next processor upgrade with the possibility of the HD 6970 now and another when Bulldozer comes out for Crossfire.
January, February, March = Q1.
April, May, June = Q2.
Finally, do we get some numbers?
Well looks like I'm buying am3 and a x6 to tide me over then.
wow that so long i can't wait for that
My AM2+ should keep me going until Bulldozer gets released, but I would like to upgrade my CPU so I can OC up to 4+GHz. Currently I am stuck at a solid stable 3.60 GHz, a 600MHz OC over it's original speed.
I am server so I can't speak to desktop software.
If by numbers you mean performance, we have always said performance benchmarks at launch.
but why AMD can't released in Q1 2011 ? why not Q4 ? AMD will surely lost if they plan for Q4 because intel will have something much more powerfull by that
You guys will have single-skt server platform this time, eh?
Will i be able to run an Orochi/Opteron-based rig for gaming?
I want to fold on the rig too, so teh higher-quality silicon the Opteron line offers is something I want in my main rig, but I've missed this opportunity since running an Opteron 170.
Listen. If you are, please send one of the guys on the crunching team a rig, so that he can help others get set up. You know exactly what direction I'm headed here...
Many many years ago I got into server hardware, because I had a "Digital Life" vision of every home running multiple "clients" with a main server hosting data/apps. With Windows7 phone, the XBOX360, The MediaRoom platform, and Windows7, the software support for such usage is there, but I do have a bit of issues deciding on which hardware platform is best to base it off of.
But then, maybe I need a new muse.
