Thanks in advance
Ruben

Hello
Yes simulation racing Rfactor 2 they just upgraded to dx 11 and my old cards just can not run it well even on real low settings.
So hoping this upgrade will get smother game play and better fps.

Thanks
I will run the ddu if not for anything other then piece of mind.

P.S
The new card has one 8 pin power connector my other cards have single 4 pins power and I have 2 of them. It has been a while but I think I split a 8 pin power connector for my old cards.
Is there any way to tell, can I take the 2 4 pins and plug them in to the 8 pin.
Or is there a adaptor to make a 4 pin power connector to a 8 pin power connector.
Is this a good idea ? Or are there other options with out have to get another PS.

Thank gents
Ruben

Make sure to grab the latest chipset driver along side the gpu driver, start ddu, disconnect ethernet or disable network/wifi adapters. Use its recommended settings with shut down, turn psu off, swap card. Turn on, install chipset driver, reboot, install gpu driver, Hook back up to internet.

Sometimes it is. I know I had to use DDU one time when switching vendors because the GPU was very unstable otherwise. Pretty rare though that it has to be done.

For the record I've never had to use DDU. Just uninstall the dirvers and software, make the switch and install new drivers. If there is an issues then try DDU. But you really shouldn't need it

And if you want to use Shadow play you have to register the Nvidia software

Hello gents
Well I got the 1060 installed and running, have some settings to adjust and maybe do a little ocing

Need to learn the evga precision ocing app.

I did run rf 2 on full to big settings and not only does it look and run better/smoother but on top of that I am now getting 90 to 110 fps with tripple 24" monitors where I was only getting 60 to 70 fps on a lot lower settings.
So I am a happy simmer lol

I did do a mark score for comparison
2 amd 7850 in Crossfire

I've switched back and forth without even uninstalling the Initial drivers(both nvidia/amd). I've never had an issue but due to the nature of PC , it doesn't mean others won't where I didn't. As a matter of fact, I know right now I have the drivers for the RX 580 installed on my computer from when i built the memorial PC, but I'm running SLI GTX 970's

Before overclocking, I'd run the card for a week before starting any tuning to check it's stability.

You need to edit this. There are 3GB and 6GB versions of the 1060, but no 4GB, and EVGA doesn't even have a 3GB version.

Any "FTW" model would definitely be well equipped. In one typo you reduced it to "Meh" status.

Yup, just a simple google search away. :)

I never understood why nvidia has been so seemingly obsessed with odd vram quantities, 1375mbs, 1280mbs,3gbs, o_O

It has been a while but I think I split a 8 pin power connector for my old cards.

i dont think so. They are probably 6 pin. All you need is 6 to 8 pin adapter.

Hello
Yes my bad
It is the evga 1060 ftw 3 gig

As far as power connection the card came with the power connector 2 pci-e to 8 pin.
So i hooked up that way seems to be working flaw less.
Still learning but I am happy so far.
I did a bench mark and the.numbers did go up.
But for me and what I wanted I now have my sim at full or high settings and get 85 to 95 fps And it is very stable and smooth.

My mistake on what EVGA offers. Didn't see that 3GB model earlier on their site. That said, I'm frankly surprised they would call anything with 3GB VRAM in this day and age a FTW model. You can't use max textures in a fair number of games unless you have 4GB or more.
