375W+. The air cooled one, 300w, is likely slower than a 1080 if what weve seen is true.

@Up exactly! There is still respectable group of people, who do not give a shit about power consumption as long as the card offers reasonable horsepower. I don't care if it's "one-and-a-half year late" reply to 1070/1080, if only the price will match the performance I will gladly send my Rx 580 to the mines....

oh my lord, my head hurts reading the comments in this thread. the vega core is exactly what will be on the gaming card. I cant wait for the rx version to come out now. I cant wait to be shown how wrong I am.
RX Vega and Vega FE will have the same core, you are right about that, but not about Volta being 3x faster than Pascal.
These are the relative speedups from Pascal in non-neural network scenarios (all compute benchmarks except the last one which is about memory transfer):

Welp lets see. Let least I supported AMD during their FuryX time. Would love to see @RejZoR backs up his love for AMD with some real purchase.

No, I'm not a Jew (as far as I know, but you never know for sure ;)) Do you feel offended? If so that wasn't my intention. For me a "Rabbi with AK" looks just funny enough in combination with this nickname (terrorist Rabbi? Rebe(l)?), while the txt on the wall is clearly a joke. However, feel free to report if you find it inappropriate.

I can see much negativeness about Vega in this thread. Moreover, I can see speculations that are far from the existing leaks. For instance, we know about 3 models if a dual Vega card doesn't exist. AIO Vega 10 (full chip) with unknown TDP, Air cooled Vega (full chip) at 285W TDP and the cut Vega 10 one with lower TDP. My estimation is that the AIO will be between 1080Ti and 1080 performance , the air cooled one with be just above GTX1080 and the cut Vega 10 model will get between 1070 and 1080. All my estimations are based on average performance in @W1zzard review @4K res with mature drivers-2 versions after the release one. Bad thing for AMD that they are far more advanced in HW abilities but they play the catch up game with their drivers (7950 vs 680, 290X vs 780Ti, 390 vs 970 and Fury X vs 980Ti are such cases where when they went on sale they lost but about 6 months later they were equal or better). So, based on facts alone, I am not so pessimistic about the Vega RX future as some here. Many features to be explored by devs that could turn the tables later. And whoever gets such high-end products usually likes some longetivity and advanced features. Price will be the main factor of its success. Less than 2 weeks now to learn more. And Vega 11 could arrive later to replace RX580 and RX570 with higher performance and more features for the mid-price market. I expect from TPU readers and posters more maturity when talking about products not released and not just bashing for the sake of bitterness or hate against any company, not only AMD. Harsh critisism on intel i9 cpus for example is based on metrics. RX Vega has got even more bashing being unreleased, just by judging another product, very similar but different in purpose. Patience is virtue. Why don't we all wait to bash heavily on RX Vega after the reviews are released?

Nvidia did huuuuge jump with the 10x0 series.
Huge jump in power efficiency and core frequency its amazing.
I was hoping that Amd could rival with the HMB2 and bigger die, end up being just wishful thinking on my side.
Feels like what core ix did to Phenom/FX.
And I can't say they got lazy with RX Vega it's just Ryzen development took too much out them.
But its obvious they will need to pull out some Ryzen shit on GPU side for the next gen.

Why's the PCB so long? This makes no sense.

Edit: It's an engineering sample. The PCB likely still has all of that voltage monitoring hardware. Consumer product should be smaller so, that's not final.

Air cooled RX Vega, looks like a $349 card to me.
Based on looks I agree. I think it would be a great price to be a competitive card... if they can stock them.

For a card that performs closer to GTX 1080 than GTX 1070, $349 is too low unless it is cut down. Way too low.

Even though with HBM you don't need that much space , you still can't really make the card much shorter than that in order to accommodate a decently large heatsink and the fan. My 1060 is pretty much just as long.

The PCB doesn't have to extend that far out though. In fact, making the HSF extend over the PCB gives more depth for a thicker blower fan. I think that's pretty sure fire proof this picture isn't a consumer card. They're using that PCB length for diagnostics/monitoring hardware.

I strongly believe RTG just designed one reference PCB for all Vega varients. This was supported by the fact Air Cooled FE Vega and AIO FE Vega share the exact PCB. Having more than one design means more money spent on R&D. RTG seems to be running on fumes in terms of R&D budget. I for one would not be surprised if they re-rebrand Polaris as RX680 for 2018.

Also, Kyle over HardOCP has confirmed this WILL be the final form of retail RX Vega.
