AMD will not kill the ATI brand

AMD announced that just because they have successfully fused with ATI does not mean they will let the brand just disappear. AMD told The Register that the "ATI name will continue to be used in association with what are now AMD's discrete graphics products and its chipsets." ATI will also still make Intel chipsets.

Glad to see the Ati name isn't going to go (would be a bad business move anyways, would be expensive to rebrand everything plus the ATi name is well established and loved by the community)

The thing is that everything still has ATi name on it. It would cost millions to do away with it. Over time, ATi name might fade away, but for now its the easy way to join the 2 companies.
