Passive HD 5450 1GB card for €60

Thanks to one of our readers we managed to score a first listing and a picture of AMD's Cedar based HD 5450 which is currently listed at Latvian retailer/e-tailer Dateks.lv site. The AMD HD 5450 should be officially announced on February 4th, followed by the HD 5570 on 9th of February.

According to the listing, the card works at 650MHz for the GPU, has 1024MB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 64-bit memory interface. As we already wrote before, many manufactures will surely replace the reference small fan design with a bit larger passive heatsink design and this card is no exception.

The card is currently listed for 44,46 Ls which converts to around €62 or US $87. We made a screenshot just in case if the e-tailer/retailer decides to pull it down.

Wow, 1GB of GDDR5 on a 64-bit bus. Thats kinda.... excessive. At least we'll know it will beat the pants off the 4350.

On board memory has effect only on insane resolutions that unplayable even with 10 GB of on-board mem. I don`t know why people are obsessing with it I would guess that is e-peen kind of thing :D.
Always Always Always higher model would be faster with less mem compared to lower model with more ram.
4870 512mb would be faster than 4850 with 2gb
5890 1gb would be faster than 5850 with 2gb etc.
And roughly would cost the same. So extra ram makes sense only on the high end top of the line graphics cards.

And that 1gb is so much overkill on 5450.
@Pyran 1GB DDR5 has more sense than 1GB DDR3 on 64bit bus faster memory would compensate for tighter mem width.

maybe it's just higher memory for people who'll be doing office related stuff with some limited rendering at high resolutions. This isn't a gaming card by any standard anyway.

a card with 256mb memory would probably be plenty for a media center. maybe 512mb for blu ray?
