Hey back in the 2002~2005 days Intel and ATi were actually really close.

I woundn't mind AMD just sell RTG to Intel. Then I would like to see AMD merging with Nvidia. That would be really interesting.

Good old AMD + nVidia. The best combination before some idiot in AMD wanted to purchase ATi

Whos gpu division is sinking, intels been bailing water in the gpu dept for ages and Amd are doing fine due in no small part to the crypto craze.
Yes intel have steam share , yes Nvidia has market share but AMD has done well regardless.

Now they're selling last years tech slightly pimped to intel while on the cusp of releasing vega 11,20 and they're in the black with all sorts of stuff on the way.

And I will say the execution on vega has been that bad i think fresh blood could help and Amd might do well without Raja ,the next guy could be the next Keller.

Intel might do ok with raja but what ,Ip exactly ,does he have to work with and how this pans out are unknowns.

Well if you read the Intel Presser. It makes no mention of a mid-range GPU

FYI - most of the tech sites saying Intel is going to do dGPU are sourcing it from the Intel Presser.

Sounds more like hes brought in to expand what they already have not come into the dGPU market.

Intel has a storage memory department and they might have been looking at Vegas HBMCC and said our tech might be put to good use there. Xeon Phi version of the Radeon Instinct MI25.

That's just it. The way people are reading into it, is like Intel will develop a stack for the gaming consumer. The discrete High-End graphics could be for workstation on up. There really is nothing Intel has said that would lead (at least based on facts) that they are going to make a GPU/Accelerator for the PC gaming market.

AMD can't work without RTG, they're essential to their very existence, from consoles to desktops & other semi custom ventures. The only way Intel gets their hands on RTG is if they make a deal AMD simply can't refuse ala FF Coppola.
