I have been waiting for Joe to rip this game apart. It isn't totally broken but its clearly not a good game either. If i want to play conquest im going to go back to BF 4 now its been patched to hell, not play a watered down copy pasta with worse features and a tagged on skin.

EDIT: Gaming hasn't been great so far in 2015. This is a sad state of affairs.

More like Battlefield Hardsell, esp at $60 to $120.

The most disgusting thing to me is Visceral are playing the yes sir, no sir bit to EA, when they could be making another Dead Space title, all of which easily put this game to shame, even Dead Space 3.

This game appears to be as horrible as it looked from the trailer I saw. What a piece of garbage :shadedshu:

For the first time ever, I have zero interest in a game with word Battlefield in it's title, and it makes me sad :(

Battlefield 4 wasn't particularly great. To be honest, I've enjoyed Battlefield 3 the most out of all. It looked great, it was kinda fun, missions were interesting and it had enough QTE's to have you more immersed into the action. Where BF4 felt very disconnected from all the action.

Bad Company 2 had amazing visuals even though I've played it after BF4, but gameplay wise, it was a bit of meh. I've only played single player modes.

Battlefield 3 and CoD: Modern Warfare 3 are still my favorites...

the creative team responsible for Dead Space being a hit actually left the company shortly after to join Sledgehammer games.

Which explains why Dead Space 3 is just a bland shadow of first two games. While I've played first two with real enthusiasm, I'm still at beginning of DS3 with no real lust to play it further...

Well said, this is pretty much how I have felt about these games.

Which is why as far as I am concerned, that series is only one game! I only have the first one and that's the way it will stay.

Yeah I think he will be back next month I think. He's on a "vacation" for questioning a mods sexuality.

The game is fine, just expensive, I had fun with the demo beta. And most games have huge unfinished aspects. "AI" is stupid since ever and 200x processing power doesn't seem to improve it.
Story writers are underpaid, so storys are crap be it ARMA or Wolfenstein to name "cult" games.

EDIT: hahaa! that angry analysis is great! Greater than the game itself! haha! He says what everyone thinks while playing! Great great great!

Holy crap, I totally forgot I bought CoD: Ghosts on the last Steam sale. Gotta start playing it after I finish Lichdom Battlemage. If it's similar to CoD:MW3 it's gonna be pretty good.

I dont get the reskin QQ. Its a bigger change than bf4 was from bf3. And a lot less broken.
Hotwire and heist are worthwhile gamemodes.
The only thing visceral didnt do was update the engine.
I wont coment on the single player. Ive never understood buying a battlefield title for it.

Which explains why Dead Space 3 is just a bland shadow of first two games. While I've played first two with real enthusiasm, I'm still at beginning of DS3 with no real lust to play it further...
People talk a lot of nonsense about the Dead Space series. Sledgehammer was formed in 2009, two whole YEARS before what is regarded by many to be the best installment in the Dead Space franchise, Dead Space 2. It also has the best user rating overall.

While Dead Space 1 was innovative for it's time, it certainly had it's flaws. It's many jump scares played like cutscenes on subsequent playthroughs, it was FAR too easy to beat with just the Plasma Cutter, it had horrible mouse support, and it's graphics were fairly mediocre.

That said, I feel ALL Dead Space titles are definitely worth playing, and the direction the franchise went was endorsed, even praised, by the writer of the first installment. The rumors of the series being cancelled due to less than expected sales of DS3 couldn't be farther from the truth.

EA admitted they were unrealistic expecting 5 mill in sales with DS3, and also said after several months, sales were better than they'd first thought. DS has ALWAYS been pretty much action vs survival horror though. Hell, DS1 even has a boss fight that resembles an over the top one from RE4.

Many would argue Dead Space had it's best content AFTER the original team left. As evidenced by the above quote, a lot of people apparently don't even know the Dead Space 2 they loved had nothing to do with the original team. I call survival horror addict hypocrisy on this.

Back on topic though. To be honest, I was skeptical from the moment they said the next BF was going to be about cops. I can't think of any cop games I'd consider worth playing. It's not surprising they put in a lot of militaristic filler to try and pull in a bigger audience. They should have known it wouldn't come off well though. Even the horrible Call of Juarez: The Cartel has a better, more realistic premise than this game.

The only shooter games I can think of relating to cops I liked were the Max Payne series and Dead to Rights 1, but those play more like rogue detective games than typical uniform cop games.

Mass Effect 2 tells a similar tale. I think it's a phenomena that should be named where the second in a series gets the best reception despite being technically the worst. The only plausible explanation I can think of is marketing/publicity.

I wasn't convinced until the tank on tank battle in a police game. I was maybe 50/50 at considering it and seeing that, I sit at 0%.

Here's TotalBiscuit's trademark video rant and he doesn't like it much, either.

I don't own the game but i played it on my friends PS4. It's pretty much exactly like Angry Joe said in the video, although he makes it funnier with his Robo Cop routine and jokes.
If it was a cut price standalone expansion or big DLC pack i would be able to overlook the lack of variety but its not, they are charging full price and therefore it earns comparison to other titles. I would pass on the new content if they released it like that because i found it boring but i wouldn't complain about it.

It is battlefield with a crappier choice of weapons and maps. Vehicles have been demoted to mostly get players from point A to point B. The theme doesn't distinguish itself enough and ends up being paramilitaries vs paramilitaries with nothing of value from the theme. One of the modes is a Payday rip off and the other mode is a CS:GO rip off, everyone plays Conquest and thats just better on previous BF titles.

The Frostbite 3 engine is mature enough from patch after patch so the game certainly functions well. Graphics don't mean much to me in the grand scheme but i swear its looks are worse than BF4 on my 6850! It should be at least on par with the last entry in the series.

I guess all my PS4 buddies only bought it because they are desperate.

the original Dead Space is the one people like not the sequel.

giving Isaac a voice ruined it for me and the story and microtransactions in Dead Space 3 are ridiculous.

You DO understand though why I had to respond the way I did to RejZoR's post don't you? People will say yeah the core team leaving made DS3 way worse than the 1st two. Well they weren't there for DS2 either people, and it was written by an entirely different guy.

Not sure I agree ME2 is best in series Ford (I liked ME3 just a bit better), but the many whom think so of DS2 certainly aren't delusional. It's one of the most masterful balances of action and survival horror in gaming history.

The micro trans in DS3 is merely there to appease lazy noobs too. If you're going to go to the effort of putting out extra features for those whom whine, you may as well get paid for it.

That said, I can't imagine using anything in a horror game that would make it easier to survive and actually pay money for it. Sounds like treats for the puppies.

Honestly, Isaac doesn't really talk during horrific gameplay segments either, except a few heavy action ones where he needs help from someone else to open a door or whatever.

I see neither features as immersion or deal breakers. Both can easily be ignored. I just think it's sad Visceral is being trashed by so many gamers to the point of having to lie down with EA.

Look at what Sledgehammer has done by comparison. They only co-developed MW3 (read did what they're told by the lead team), and AW is largely a Titanfall/Crysis spin..., (cough), ripoff, with little imagination.

Not sure I agree ME2 is best in series Ford (I liked ME3 just a bit better), but the many whom think so of DS2 certainly aren't delusional. It's one of the most masterful balances of action and survival horror in gaming history.
I meant that a lot of people say Mass Effect 2 is the best the trilogy and it sold better than Mass Effect (4 million units versus 3 million); however, to spare going further off topic, here's several (especially #1 on this one) refreshers on why Mass Effect 2 is awful.

Back on current topic, this link excludes PC sales but it shows Dead Space and Dead Space 2 sold about the same in the first five weeks with Dead Space 3 failing miserably:

Over the long haul, Dead Space sold around one million copies while Dead Space 2 sold around two million copies:
