Another fan question.

Im looking at installing a new cpu cooling set-up, and was looking for ideas on fans. Specifically, im looking at a closed loop water cooling solution such as an h70 etc..

What im looking at is static pressure and a push pull setup. Should one use 2 high static pressure fans, (one on both sides) or use one high static pressure fan on one side and one high flow fan the other side?

You will want a pair of high static pressure fans on both sides. Even with the lack of pressure on the outside a higher static pressure fan will do better pulling from a blockage.

What noise level are you shipping for? In the quiet section I would look at the coolermaster sickleflows, in the almost silent corsair's SP fans, in the noisier group something like an Ultra Kaze.

I was thinking that as well. Just looking to see if my thought was correct. I was actually looking at the corsair SP series fans which is what brought me to the question. noise isnt much of a problem for me, but I like the specs on the corsairs. Its difficult to find static pressure specs on fans it seems. I hope companies start putting these specs up..makes a big difference in fan choices.

They have less than half of the static pressure of the cm's I mentioned.

Actually, looks like the sickleflow 120 has less static pressure in h20/mm;

I am not sure about static pressure, but Scythe/Servo Gentle Typhoons are good. in terms of durability, cfm and the noise/cfm ratios.

It is a bummer that reviews seldomly describe the static pressure the reviewers measured themselves (if they did) because of course the figures by the "manufacturers" are not reliable enough, IMHO.

Interesting I haven't seen the high performance models of those. Quite a bit louder if getting that noisy look at he ultrakaze fans as well.

Actually the 2000rpm models are quieter 32dba vs 35dba on the corsair. Not to mention the scythes still have higher static pressure.
