Well i've found an antec 300 for £37.50 (usually £50 including delivery) at a shop pretty much just down the road from me and while that sounds like a bargain I just want to hear other peoples opinions before jumping into anything. For a start does anybody have a few high resolution pictures of the case?

Newegg.com. You can zoom in on the images. It's a really good case, especially for that price.:)

thanks erocker, i've seen in the pictures that the psu is fitted at the bottom, and thinking about it I wonder why all cases aren't like that.

I used the 300 in a build that I did for a friend. Great case for the money. I plan on using it again in future builds.

Personally, I love the PSU at the bottom. I have the Antec 1200. The PSU can be a heavy a$$ thing. If you are like me, I move my furniture around a lot. If the screws were to become weak because of stress, you can say goodbye to most, if not all, your PC components (if it isn't one of those supported by a bar or enclosure). It actually can happen if you don't move your PC around either. Secondly, it can reduce stress on the back of the case and lower the vibration quite a bit, especially if it supported by rubber grommets. I love my case.

You do have a valid thought, though. Many people found that their PSU's cables were too short.

that wasn't the case with my Silverstone PSU. the cables are longer then needed. having the PSU at the bottom makes WM completly different then having it at the top

Actually another good reason for the PSU on the bottom is cuz its not sucking in all the excess heat from all the other components in the case its getting cooler air at the bottom

Yep, I had that problem. However, it should be possible to route it under the graphics card between the backplate and the card slot. I spoke to PCP&C and thats what they told me to try, and it worked.

Even doing this though wasn't enough when I wanted to go crossfire, the cable wouldn't go round the lower slot. My PSU had a cable tie around the whole bunch of cables , I cut that off and it gave me just enough.

There is a better solution, you can buy an 8pin male to female extension which IMO is the better solution. Akasa do one, in the UK scan.co.uk sell them for about £3.

Here in our country (Romania) the Antec 300 is about 60 Euros and i must say it's worth it bigtime... i like especialy the 900 series but that's over my budget (it's double the price of the 300, 115 Euros), so next week i will purchase the 300...:toast:

Antec Three Hundred is quite nice... The only possible problem is the number of 5.25" bays... It has only 3, so if you have two optical drives, you'll be left with only one bay to use for any HDD silencer or fan controller or anything similar.
