It's an ECS, which means only good for close to stock speeds. That's a hell of an HTPC deal though.

Pretty good for about anything, including just a machine, toss a video card in it and you could play most games pretty well too...

From the looks of it, the power supply is separate but also a good deal..

If shipping costs wouldn't kill, I would pay someone to pick up a set for me... :laugh:

i'm thinking of this for a "mom" computer. right now she gets by on an old p4. mostly because it has all her programs. she's not a demanding computer user at all. but something with more performance couldn't hurt. and the 5200+ has pep. nice case, too

its so cheap and i have spare stuff lying around. i could just get it and give it to he for christmas or something

Few things I don't like about this case is

Front Grilled vent means more dust inside the case and more cleaning
Front Grill with Fans makes more noise than other types of cases
Bottom PSU means more dust collected into the PSU which might make the PSU work harder and eventually die.
The cables from the PSU might be hard to reach the top Optical drives or even 12V cpu connector might not be enough.

just a few things I don't like about that case. Its a gamer kind of case, so if giving to Pop or Mom I would go with Antec Sonata case, Quiet, Simple and elegant and they will love it.

yeah you know its funny because i was thinking about that case, too. it does have a "sporty" look to it mom might not like. i mean her Dell Dimension doesn't look so hot either, though. its all black and gray and yuck

i wouldn't use those front fan things. just the rear. so noise wouldn't be an issue. and i figure since they won't be used i can cover them with something black from the inside. just some paper or something that looks natural. so no dust. still, i'm looking at it now and yeah....something more elegant might be better

i have to give this some thought. if i can get this "deal" i suppose i could sell the case and get another. we will see

ok so i called my mom and sent her a pic of the case and she thinks its "cool." she likes black and the mesh and all that. i figured why "surprise" here with something she might not even want. so now she's just getting a new computer

seems a good deal. 5200+ Brisbane (OEM not even a box comes with it. any kind of box!), budget mobo that has good reviews on newegg, and a pretty sturdy case. should be a fun build i'm getting to it next month. no use starting now she doesn't want it quite yet. its gonna be a big step up from that lousy p4 2.4 or .6 or w/e it is she is using. plus Vista if she wants it

what a good son i am :)

they also have an intel deal with an e7200 and a cheap mobo for $109. the mobo looked to be limited to 667mhz memory, though. don't know any other details. no case with that one
