Antec Inc., leading provider of high-performance computer components and accessories for the gaming, PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself market, are launching a new series of All-in-One Liquid CPU Cooling, the Mercury RGB series. The Antec Mercury coolers are commercially available now for 81 Euros (Mercury 120 RGB), 109 Euros (Mercury 240 RGB) and 136 Euros (Mercury 360 RGB).

The new Antec Mercury RGB CPU Cooler Series is engineered to keep the CPU cool for up to 40,000 hours. Manufactured with high-quality components, the products are proven to last at least five years - a benchmark of quality that surpasses the standard also backed by the Antec 5-year warranty period. The Mercury RGB models are equipped with non-lubricated graphite bearings and a durable ceramics axis in a carbon-metal construction. The Mercury RGB models feature an intelligent PWM RGB LED fan with 30 LEDs which can be synced via motherboard connection or the integrated RGB hub. The multiple RGB modes are single color, breathing, flashing and gradient color cycling.

The high performance pump with an ultra-quiet closed impeller design and three-phase motor enable the maximum amount of water circulation, keeping the system running cool and quiet. The pump features a high coolant pressure (2.3m water pressure; flow rate of 3.5 l / minute) and a lower-fan noise. PTFE-coated tubing provides excellent durability and high temperature resistance. Furthermore, the RGB models feature Nylon-braided tube sleeves. The Mercury is easily set up via plugging into a -Pin motherboard connector and SATA power (through an included adapter cable).

Bit of an unfortunate name for a cooling system considering that Mercury is the hottest planet in our solar system, being closest to the Sun and all. Then there’s mercury liquid metal being a highly toxic substance.

The marketing team really didn’t think this one through at all.

You could say the same thing about the cars, hot, poisonous, and the cause of thousands of deaths. Maybe that's why nobody buys them anymore.
