Any MSI reps here? Why is MSI Z370 the last to get the Intel micro code updates... :/

I checked, Gigabyte, ASRock, Asus, and a couple others, and all of them have new BIOS already 1-3 weeks ago for the new Intel micro code that was released... why is MSI the last to get it done and still not done on any Z370 motherboard... very frustrating as I wanted to experiment with virtual machines lately, but have to wait... :/

I'm still within refund period, might just refund it and get an ASRock unless someone can confirm its coming soon... please advise.

Tbere was at one point...not sure now though.

Ask msi when they will come out for that platform. They would know best.

Report back. :)

Pretty much all Intel partners get new microcode in the same time. Later they have to make BIOS and check everything. Since there are various patches, new AGESA ( also in 2 versions ) and 2 microcodes for Intel ( one was causing stability issues ) then all can be delayed. Believe me, other vendors have similar issues ( I have contact with some of them ). I would rather wait couple of days than get BIOS which is causing various issues like it was for some motherboards. The largest manufacturers have usually longer queue because they have to check more motherboards. Some like Biostar are simply slow.

Today is the last day for me to return my MSI z370 board...
I have been thinking pretty hard about it too...
I'm not even sure if my system is stable.

I just returned my MSI Z370 board two days ago. Going to be selling my 8700k. Decided to just stick with my old gtx 1070 gaming laptop for now. I was having issues as well.

Right... LoL
I know I'm being impatient...
But the thought of it not getting better is starting to wear down my interest in this platform.
I'm sure it will all be ok by July.

Why do you *need* the latest microcode updates? VM should run with or without the update.

The latest update for my board was 12/25/17... I have that firmware.. It has a microcode update.
Stable it is not.
Windows threw out a couple of errors so I very reluctantly upgraded... Really wish I hadn't. The problems started right after.
I have not had any issues over the last few days tho... it could be completely fine.
I'm very paranoid about it and another update would really out my mind at ease.

Is msi not known for updates when needed? Or poor quality ones? I only buy a very limited spectrum of motherboards due to my experience with them , MSI is not one of them , I would expect updates to be released as needed but it would seem that may not be the case .

Hopefully it gets resolved.

They actually tend to test BIOS updates more thoroughly than some other brands. MSI has come a long way in BIOS development over the past couple of years. It was their one weak point and it's almost completely gone now.

Anyway, here's the official MSI page to pay attention to for this issue:

Usually MSI is really good about it...
I have owned more MSI than any other brand because this isn't something you normally have to deal with... Makes me think this isn't really on them.
At the very least they usually have a beta out.... But it's been dark since December...

Then again... And I hate to keep saying this... My system is stable.. Has been for a few days... I could be sounding an alarm for nothing.... I'm just really paranoid.. LoL

my MSI z370 board...
I have been thinking pretty hard about it too...
I'm not even sure if my system is stable.
Just return the board, then go back the next day and buy it again, extend ur 30 day return window LOL. Also depends on who you bought it from. Amazon is really good to me, I returned an item 50 days later, and they first said no, then I asked them to ask a manager and was approved for the return :)

Can vouch to this, MSI has come a long way with boards and BIOS development.

I have always been an ASUS fanboy but I recently switched to MSI for z370 because I liked their board more and because of a pleasant and quick aftersale support I had on a product I was repairing.
