Any non-IPS 2560x1440 monitors?

Basically, the topic is the question. To my understanding the main reason why monitors such as Dell U2711 are so expensive is due to their IPS panels. As a gamer, I just want a higher resolution panel than my current standard 1920x1080 one. Is there such a panel for significantly less than the conventional high resolution IPS panels?

to be honest theres no reason to go to a higher resolutions if the image quality sucks its like a cheapo 1080p tv vs an expensive top tier 720p tv etc same thing applies higher res is good but shitty image quality just ruins it for gaming not to mention if u plan to game at that high a res i hope you have some serious GPU power

There is nothing I could find in that resolution that is cheaper.

You do have the option of going with 2x 1080p monitors for 3840 * 1200
(if you have the hardware to drive them)

or perhaps a cheap but good 2560x1440 IPS panel? idk any but if anyone can suggest?

idk for him, but when I was looking for a monitor like that, it was for the pixel pitch (obviously minimum 21.5" for me though)

I have the U2711 and love it; my only regret is I should have gotten the U3011 :rockout:
