Yup, I'm buying at least two fully loaded, each with two or three of the over-priced displays and their insane monitor stands. One for the east coast mansion and one for the west coast mansion. I was considering getting one for the beach house in Maui but I like to relax there, free of the wonders of technology and their ever present chains. It was either that or get the Lambo painted a new color, so I figure why not donate to the make Tim Cook so rich he can buy Madagascar fund. We'll have a laugh about it next time he stops over.

Nope not here, nothing work or any thing else related requires a Mac thankfully.

Stuttering woes ?, i am 100% you can do that with out buying a Mac.

I'd buy 2 kick ass PC's before any such thing.

Just a thought better check if the SSD(s) \ ram \ cpu is soldered in or not mainly though the SSD.

I hear you, I was thinking about just dual monitor but three is the way to go. May as well be computing on my fire tablet if if I only went dual monitor.

FYI, only re-paint your Lambo in even years. Odd years get your your Maybach re-upolstered.

Funny thing is that schools in some areas here actually have classrooms full of apple computers lol. I know in some parts of New York City, they have even issued Macbooks to their high-school students.

Which is crazy, but they do it. And they never learn from the nightmares that ensue.

Ah duh! It's an Apple product it is made to look pretty and fail just as soon as your Apple care plan expires. Of course everything is soldered to the motherboard. Anything that isn't requires special software that only Apple certified repair centers who do a minimum of $400,000 in sales per year can have access to. Apple cares about it's customers more than anything, just as long as they keep pouring a steady pile of cash into their coffers!

Definitely not for personal use, but for professional use pricing doesn't look bad at all to me. Some professional GPUs just by themselves used to cost more than the base config of this entire system.

They get insane discounts. Microsoft does the same thing. Most tech companies give really nice discounts to education. Typically to the order of zero profit margin. I'm pretty sure Apple and maybe even Microsoft take a hit on it. The idea was pretty much started by AutoDesk back in the 80s. Get them hooked on your products from the start and when they join the work force, that's what they will demand.

Yes but the base config isn't what they are tooting their horns about. For $6000 you get an 8c/16t@3.5Ghz, 32GB of RAM, 256GB SSD and Apple's equivalent of the RX580. Just for reference, base cpu is an Intel Xeon W-3223 approx. $1000, 2 x 16GB DDR4 ECC $100 each, 256GB NMVE SSD $100(500GB is only $160) and a Radeon Pro WX 7100 $500. Hmm, let's be generous and say $1200 for a case, power supply and a beastie motherboard. $3000 in parts at normal prices not the steep discount Apple gets. That's nearly 3 grand in Apple taxes, double the cost. Top end config is rumored to be about $45,000 without displays. Add another $10,000-12,000 because who has that kind of workstation with one display!

edited: Processor was wrong and the correct one isn't for sale at retail yet...

I think I heard Linus say that a certain Quadro card price tag was around $5k per unit? I think it was on a video where LTT compared the Quadro against a Geforce GTX card (Titan?) and why there was such a price gap between the two...

That article title is so clutch... It's built for the 0.000001% of the population that like, totally, like needs that power and no one caters to them because they're so cool. Their super cool creative work needs alot of power, and they need to see all colors to make beautiful art more beautiful. Because their eyes are so advanced, they need a $5,000 monitor so they can do their work.

The world would f*&ing end if that hint of orange in that chameleon's tongue wasn't precisely the correct shade...

Unlike the rest of you coding plebs - you get an ipad. Your work needs are so basic we will just glue a mac-book to a screen and you can manage with that. This computer isn't for you. You're not good enough. Look at the picture - people that are so pro, that they only use a left handed trackpad is who this is for. Not for you and your sweaty palms and your dork mouse.

Impossible - this computer doesn't work with a mouse. You have to control it with your creativity and charisma.
