Anyone else having issues with the RX 480 and a 4K desktop?

Yeah, if it isn't a setting and multiple DisplayPort cables have been tried then it has to be the card or the monitor.

Turn off GPU scaling, I noticed if it is turned on, my VGA monitor cannot run above 60Hz, with it off it can run at 75Hz like it has been since I owned an ATI Radeon All In Wonder 9700 Pro.

A lound pop could indicate that monitor is flaky or oulet/powerstrip maybe going bad, by the way one last thing to try too, rip all parts out of the case and run them on a bench, even swap to a different outlet in the room and use a different power strip. A client had a weird anomaly with a 754 rig where a monitor would dump out, moved everything off said outlet to another and hasn't had an issue since.

Never heard a pop. But the monitor works fine in 4k60 on my PS4 pro so I believe it's an RX 480 issue

Apparently according to that video of that guy, the only way to get it to work is using a DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor to stop this blinking problem. I am at a loss. Seems to effect only XFX cards

Get on the horn with XFX then or @XFXSupport needs to show up here.

Used the same cable? If yes, RMA time for the video card.

This happened across two rx480 cards, both the same XFX model. Even bringing the tower upstairs on a different outlet made no difference.

The ONLY way to fix 4K on these XFX cards is to use a DP to HDMI adaptor. This fixed my problem but now I lost Freesync

Are you out of the refund period? I'd explain the issue in detail to XFX, preferably over the phone. XFX might have a newer revision of the card with the issue fixed that they can send you. If XFX cannot or will not fix the issue and it is under a year since you bought it, I'd open a dialog with the retailer explaining the situation. If it was Newegg, they'll likely want it back and give you store credit (refunds on original charge card only available in 30 days). The card then becomes XFX's problem again.

Gotcha. I think @XFXSupport is off for the weekend. I think my warranty is void due to replacing thermal paste with Grizzly which sucks and my amazon return window closed January 31st

Cool, shipping the card later and got my RMA, do I need to wait for the card to get to California before you guys send out the replacement? What's the turnaround time that I'll be stuck with my iGPU?

Does the flickering occur when its not overclocked? This is why we typically insist on a ticket first so things like this aren't overlooked...

As long as you didn't do any firmware flashes but used software then no it won't be as the clock speeds to ramp up to or down to are encoded into the card itself.
