Anyone have experiences with the external graphic card on laptops and all in one pc

Hi everyone just wondering have anyone tried or have experience using externel graphic card adapter that connected through the wifi card slot on either a laptop or all in one pc. As i have an asus all in one pc model asus et2210ints as i have taken it apart to see if it have the long or short wifi card it appears to have the long version wifi card but i noticed it have 2 wifi slot. As im thinking about the idea of the external graphic card as the board have nvidia gt520m is kinda weak for anything.

I've used an EXP GDC mPCIe for my laptop which has slightly better specs than that AIO to get some more out of it.
I never managed to get it to work with the laptop's monitor, only with an external one which worked great but that's not really optimal of course. mPCIe also doesn't have very much bandwidth so I've heard that running it on the internal display hurt's it's performance greatly and makes it a bit pointless.

Basically from what I read it's not worth while unless your PC has Thunderbolt, M.2 or your planning on using an external monitor with the mPCIe model.

I have use docking stations with ethernet, SCSI and GF card connectivity with success... but as you prolly picked up from the SCSI, was quite a while ago. Never did or knew anyone who did wifi interface.

You're referring to the Mini PCIe or the M.2 slot.

You need a high bandwidth bus to be able to keep cpu- gpu traffic good plus a strong cpu. Good cooling on the laptop and gpu.

all i know the wifi card is longer than the mini verisons in laptop

ive got all the kit a beast extrenal pcie slot with adapter cable. I bought the 1660ti to go with it. I plan on installing it all on the notebook. Unfortunately my place has become less secure due to my new neighbours being complete scumbags and thieves.

all I can tell you is theres enough people having good experiances for them to bother marketing the kit... I'd predict your set up will work out fine. good luck, it will be interesting to see how well the card runs. dont worry too much about there being a bottleneck. these cards do not saturate pcie3 or pcie2 for that matter. mini pcie3 slot should be fine. sorry I cant tell you how mine works.
i'd set it up now for you, but ive had to move a lot of loose stuff to more secure homes, for the time being.

Just had another look inside the asus et2210 case and it seems to have 2 wifi cards inside which i didnt think it had them before. Yep it has the mini wifi card and the standard long wifi card look like it possible might be able to buy the kit and the power supply in about 3 weeks time just bills popping up lately. Once i get it up and running i will post up a few pictures and performance

the kit cost me about £15 maximum. I think It could of even been cheaper.... absolutely great quality components for the price. all put together well.
Its like a pro ghetto mod.. Dremel a tiny slit in the side of your chasis or just try to get it out through another space. I think the only tidy way would be to use a Dremel and give it its own connection space. I bought an 800w focus seasonic psu for it similar to my desktop 1000w focus psu.
ive seen some results on youtube and it does well. im looking forward to it.

trouble is im in Ireland and the euro is more dearer last checked around nothing in ireland and england only in china, hong kong and the mighty us of a. Also a question for you is it possible to extend the hdmi cable from the mini pcie as it looks rather short in the picture of some of the sites and videos. Only way i have to find out is ask questions to the sellers about that or even risk the chance to test it with a hdmi coupler as i had an idea to hide the graphic card along with the power supply under the desk where the all in one would be placed.

Just ordered the i5 2400s for the asus all in one et2210 just bought it on the 26th of july and it came by the 2nd of august was ready to install it but was abit surpise 3 pins missing in the socket as they were snapped off so it looks like i will have to replace the board as it have broken audio ports as it was like this when i bought the all in one faulty from ebay about 5 years ago. As the board does work but i dont know the side effect of the missing pins. I will update more info once i have everything up and running
