I was an insider for the year or so before release, and I Had my fill o of it. I believe one of my computers was still on the insider program as of last year, but I finally got rid of the last one ,& got a retail key

Usually, pro and home and education don't come with ultimate, but versions like enterprise LTSC, and workstation editions do

Running 1809 , no problems , everything is fine the new Dark mode looks sexy.

Just got an update this afternoon. So far so good. Sound is working, documents are all in place, no blurry icons in taskbar(at least for now). Dark mode sucks balls: awful contrast in Explorer menu, not usable with custom color schemes, not all UI elements follow the scheme even if they are inside standard Windows apps.

If they want to match Mojave's dark mode, they have to put in some more effort and a ton of work hours, cause that's just lazy.

that dark mode reminds me of contrast mode.....

Humble bundle recently had stardock in one of their bundles, thats worth doing if your looking for a different appearance for windows 10. i think i paid $1.00 for custom icons, start menu, etc.

How's your dark mode is better than my dark mode, J? :banghead:

My menus and toolbars always stay beige, and the highlighted items in treeview have light background and white text, which is unreadable

Tried to change it several times with different main/highlight colors and different checkboxes enabled - and still the same result.

Ok, got it. Had to enable/disable high-contrast mode for all changes to take effect. Now it's better!

I'm curious what it is that's causing some people to have a failure ,and others to not :confused:

Me too. I kept getting one, or another, of a few different errors(mainly one that the log said was due to a Bluetooth driver failure, which is odd, as I have no BT devices currently installed, or rather, have never had any installed). I tried ALL of the troubleshooting steps they recommended. NONE of them worked. Well...the last one did. But I wouldn't call a clean install troubleshooting. Apparently they do though...

Yep Win 10 Pro

I was reading about the issues with Nvidia cards and installs but I wasn't sure if that was causing the issue I had or not.. I'm not formatting again to install 1809, as long as 1803 works for the time that will do.. Wonder if it matters if one install is genuine or the other isn't?
God I miss Windows 7... Best Windows OS bar XP and that wasn't brilliant either....

I clicked the Updates button to see what was there as it had said a few hours ago, that there were no updates, funny that... So when it failed to install at least I never had to re install from fresh thank god and the roll back worked.. I suppose I'm grateful that at least one thing in Windows 10 works and that's the roll back feature.. I'm glad they got a single useful 'tool' working and correct.. I hope they don't break it in another update though....
