So DXVK, the direct X to Vulkan mod.

In some situations it seems like a godsent, like GTA4.

However, having downloaded the latest version, all random games I try just crash, I can verify that it does switch from DX9 to Vulkan.
Usually I get into the main menu but shortly after it just crashes.

Am I doing something wrong or is it just that finicky ?

I used it for several months after the first release.
I made some recordings of how it worked on low-end hardware back then:

Do you use Steam Proton?
I did not use Steam Proton but did the installation of DXVK manually and it often worked better than on windows.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey worked better on Linux (DXVK) than native windows several months after its release.
You can always report bugs to the developer of DXVK, he is quite talented and usually solves the problem quickly.

I think he's talking about using it in Windows. Anyhow, while that may work, IIRC its not a use case they test very actively for.

DXVK and DXWrapper are useful with ARC series cards for some games using DX11 or older that run poorly. Intel has improved the drivers in a lot of the ones I had problems with, but some still run better/smoother with Vulkan.

This is because of your Radeon, AC Odyssey and AC Origin work better with DXVK and in Windows with Radeon cards.
