I built a new pc for gaming and editing and had in storage 2 psu I tried with it. corsair 750w and 600 antec. both wouldnt work. tried with tester. nothing.

no allegience to brands anymore.

anyone can tell me what red flags they see other then the brand name?

its being shipped overseas 230v, it has to be under $75 so I dont pay customs taxes. and while pc components are supposed to be 17%, amazon are thieves and final payment is like 23% junk fees. so under $75

doesnt matter the specs of my pc. components wont use more then what a 600w psu can give out anyway. just looking at the psu as it is.

That psu used to be a tier-A on the old psu tier list however it has a 1 year warranty which could be a red flag. Moreover, newegg reviews shows a lot more DOAs than I'd be comfortable with. What country are you in? Ideally we'd get something local but I have a feeling that isn't an option for you.

Edit: it feels even more sketchy that apparently it includes a 3-year warranty card, says 10-year warranty on the amazon page, while other reviews say it's only 1-year. Moreover, it looks like there's possibly more than one model with the ARMOR name so they might be completely separate models so sadly I'm even more confused about what exactly this is.

Edit again: Ok so after doing more research on the company, they're generally serving the asian market and furthermore TPU, via Aris, has actually reviewed a SAMA psu in the past and gave it relatively okay ratings. I'm guessing there's just a ton of confusion on the warranty outside of their local market so maybe this PSU is more legit than I thought, but sadly I'm not easily able to do any more research right now and gtg back to work.

Hmmm an unknown PSU brand for very little money I'd be very dubious about it's 80+ gold accreditation and should it go poo it may actually take out other components in your PC when it does

Check my edit; SAMA apparently is only unknown outside of the asian market

SAMA has been around for a while but mostly stick to Pac-Asia. I didn't know they were looking to enter North America. They are a capable in house OEM/Brand but not sure they have the front end ability to handle easy warranty issues (maybe they do now) but something to think about it.

says "All Graphics Cards Black 10 Year Warranty" on their branded amazon store, maybe in China it was 1 year

Someone on amazon did a review and said they got a 3-year warranty card so that's even more confusing to me. Maybe they honor it in the US?

@SalemTheKit

thanks ordered it. im in the ME area. it would cost me around 75% more for a good modular psu.
Wait hold up, what were your needs to begin with? Also, this is the amercian speaking in me, but ME?

yeah, like I said front end issues (warranty, sales, marketing.,) so not surprised. Also would not be surprised they make you ship the RMA unit over seas.

Also, this is the amercian speaking in me, but ME?
I figure Maine since s/he linked US amazon but maybe Montenegro

I guess this is what I'm confused by. Was there a specific reason to get a 230V psu, and furthermore was it entirely JUST to avoid customs? I feel like there could've been far better solutions but I'm just a bit lost on the entire situation honestly.

thanks for the assist middle east-ish area. its close to eu but in between. ryzen 5600x 32gb ram, and looking to get a new (used) gpu. tdp are crazy for gpu so wanting something that can give me some headroom without worries.

I just checked. Id pay twice that price here if I bought that modular 750w. a different known brand but this sama seems like itll do the business.

im happy. if I get 1 year warranty, im happy. its fine. for half price, ill take it. cheap may be expensive, but I bought expensive and it was an expensive fail twice with corsair and antec. so no brand allegience for me anymore, in fact I have a large no buy list of brands.

send them to @Shrek and have him open them up, I'd lay 50/50 odds one if not both are not legit

(just kidding it would be outrageously expensive to send them)

I understand, but I wasn't fully comfortable recommending it. Are local shops really that much more expensive in your country? I've had friends in the middle east build PCs without issues but it's possible they're not from the same country as you. Also for what it's worth, it might be worth looking up a subreddit from your country or looking up forums in your native language or specifically seeking out forums based in your country as well for far better advice than what TPU can offer. If you've already done that without success then I apologize for assuming, but generally speaking, at least with my experience on this forum, people tend to do a lot worse with anything outside of the main english-speaking countries that frequent this forum.

no now I see anything from corsair or antec fully modular would cost twice as much. im happy with the decision. I never had a PSU fail while in a case. the other 2 I mentioned were in storage and when I came to build the 5600x pc, both wouldnt work. I had a 3rd psu 550w old style with no sleeves. that did work from a q6600 thats sitting in the corner collecting dust. I purchased a tester by recommendation from a friend on this forum. they didnt work. took the fans out and threw them out. im happy with the decision. I know there are brands (with anything, not specific to pc components) that dont sell out of specific regions and other brands specific to be sold in western countries. for instance Illama monitor I bought. very nice screen. a bit too contrasty vs my old benq but its decent enough. cheers

Again I'm not entirely sure this is skimping. SAMA seems to be relatively well-established and they've previously had well-reviewed models.

I'm just a hobbyist with a soldering iron and would not know a fake capacitor from the real deal.

Amazon reviews mean nothing, now.

There is a review on this PSU page saying "Only con is that it's not modular. So, lots of wires to try and manage.".
I remember looking at a review for a product, but there were reviews for about 4 different products from the same manufacturer.

received it. first full modular. ive had partial where 8pin/24pin MB connectors were hard wired. it looks nice. which means little

by the looks im surprised. it looks like a good psu but time will tell if it can handle the work and wotn blow up or burn the house down. even comes with 12pin gpu cable rated to 450w.. I had an antec and corsair psu fail recently when I pulled them from storage and I didnt care to pay the crazy prices they have for a psu here. so wanted to get it from online and save some bucks

well see.
