Actually one of my favorite all time games -- the story is amazing, the world is completely open, side quests are awesome, weapons are great and the fighting is fun/dangerous (you can get an arrow to the eye), NPCs are really detailed and well done; the RPG elements make a meaningful difference without putting you into full god mode, and armor is historically accurate.

Still have to play the A Woman's Lot DLC, but KCD ranks right up there with the Witcher and Skyrim (and even a little bit higher for me personally). Not sure how this game didn't blow up more than it did.

I got it on the free too, have not played it yet but only because I have about 20 unplayed freebies and am trying to get through a re-visit of the mass effect series but might give it a try when I have finished.

This works so well because you start the game as an absolute nobody that gets forced into events bigger than yourself, its super motivating and you really feel like you're forging your own path, starting with the simplest things.

I watched Gameplay of this on Youtube and was intrigued (not enough to buy) it was free on Epic when I got it but there were plenty of other Games like Avengers, Jedi Fallen order (thanks Mando) and Squadrons to play. I want to start it but ME:Amdromeda (EA Play) has me right now.

Don't worry I only played 2 for a bit but I guess the thought of exploring the Andromeda Galaxy has me intrigued.

Andromeda is very different from 1-3, more character interaction and exploration but generally less combat, Andromeda remains my fave tho.

tips for KCD:
1 - pick as many poison ivy as you can in the first part of the game (it gives you an awesome perk, takes a while but if you're playing on higher difficulty with debuffs then definitely worth)
2 - master a long/short sword combo (whichever you can land most consistently) and pick up whatever the steel/cheap variant of that is, once you get good with timings you become very dangerous -- that will allow you to raid your first few bandit camps and get loot/ $$

Im definitely a one trick pony with this game but I've beaten it a few times without dying on the higher difficulties... still need to finish my run with all the debuffs.

Played the game for 60h and I was quite done with the game. The most enjoyment I got from the game was the "bath house" :D

This probably sounds like a strange answer but had I have done 1-3 before Andromeda I think I would have liked them better but because largely this was a new genre for me and having played Andromeda first and a few times and it being a bit different to 1-3 I was a little disappointed they were different, it took a while for 3 to grow on me but had I have played 1-3 first in the correct order I think I would maybe have been a bit disappointed in Andromeda if that makes sense.

Andromeda was fun for me, played it last summer, but it is the kind of game like DA: Inquisition that i only play once. The original Mass Effect and the second one are the best, the third it meh.

Totally. The power of perception, that's exactly what I was curious about. Because I did it the other way around, and for me Andromeda was a 'fun game' but it was not really Mass Effect at all in my view. Just something with spaceships and aliens, third person combat and some pretty weak RPG elements trying to float on the richness of the first trilogy.

This, exactly. It felt just like DA: I to me too. A strange mix of open-worldy-themepark MMO but singleplayer, with an identity crisis.

For some weird reason I'm almost triggered to replay ME 1-3 again... would be the 4th time then. Graphics and age be damned. Its just a game with a soul to it, like a great movie can have it, you just want to be in those moments again.

I am happy that both if these Games I acquired through EA play. I agree on the sentiment about DA:I though. It is an all right Game but Dragon's Dogma is a better example to me. As far as Kingdom Come Deliverance it may go into the pile of Games I hope to play when I retire.

During the Weeds quest, it seems that no matter how well you remove the weeds, Brother Nicodemus will never be satisfied, leading to quest failures. This has to do with how slowly he walks while checking your work. The weeds eventually grow back until he's finished evaluating your work. To prevent this mistake from sabotaging your progress, return to the plots of land while he walks and remove the weeds that have reappeared.

The Q&A quest is known to be especially buggy. Players were having trouble with Sir Radzig not showing up at the watchtower and being unable to start the cutscene in the camp. Radzig was found in several other places, such as in Rattay next to his room, in the stables in Merhoj or on the horse farm in Neuhof.

If the Q&A cutscene does not activate, most players said that reloading the previous save and attempting the quest again helped fix the error.

This mod will allow you to save anytime the game would normally allow you to save, without using up your Saviour Schnapps. https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/1

I tried it for a while, but I wasn't able to get the hang of the sword-fighting and kept dying, so I stopped playing it. But it seems to be a really good game with an interesting premise and great atmosphere.

I am waiting to get enough spare time to learn how to sword-fight in KC-D and pick up the story again.

Edit: And I need to get a better GPU for this game. It's gorgeous, but my Vega 64 does not do justice to it.

Skyrim ?, da fck, KCD is way better than Skyrim, story wise too.

Put near 195 hours in it, i only stopped playing it due to them changing the rules on how the game was played, like how much stuff you can have on you\horse and a 390 did not play as well as i had hoped for.

But a game i will return to play again for sure, tried going back to skyrim and felt so shallow in comparison.

Skyrim is a different game, though isn't it? High fantasy versus medieval recreational activities...

I think there's more than a scale of Bad > Bestest in games. I spent a lot of time enjoying myself in the world of Skyrim, there's a lot to see and do and lose yourself in - thát is immersion. KCD can do a similar trick, but does it in its own way which is very much different. There were days I couldn't bring myself to pick up KCD, simply because the game asks a certain awareness of you, combat isn't easy. Skyrim otoh is brutally simple. Different games.

I had no problems with swordplay, my problems were around horseplay, it took me ages to get away from the chasing enemy on horses about an hour into the game, got killed every time no matter which direction I went, it took me about 80 attempts to survive

That sounds frustrating af - when I played if you just ride away from them at full gallop they hit you with some arrows but can never kill you...

If you really want to cheese, then when you get on the horse, immediately open inventory and remove the saddle -- this gives the horse extra speed, so you can just zoom off and they cant even hit you with the arrows

Yes I too liked KCD way more than Skyrim. Much more immersive and fun, and the story is better. I can't wait for their next installments. If someone gave me the choice between having a new ES6 game, and more Warhorse games I would 100% pick Warhorse; though I think I might be in the minority on this one.

Tried it but the hardcore mode is just unbalanced and I really wanted to play the hardcore mode. Add the letters to the compass and all would be well.

It's not hard to make Skyrim feel shallow. All Bethsoft games are incredibly shallow, for various reasons.

I can't believe I missed this thread. Well I was busy mostly playing the game if I'm being honest. Playing it since December. 120 hours in and still not anywhere close to finishing it.

I love it. The characters, the setting. I love even the combat and usually I can't stand sword and shit. Got it at Epic Giveaway months ago. Finally started playing end of last year. Took a plunge and bought the royal edition on steam winter sale. You get a dog and some good side-quests.

I usually play a game once and never touch it again kinda guy. So I'm wringing out every possible branch of outcome for quests I can think of. Save before quest > do one choice > reload > do another choice > reload > redo the best choice imo.

Dog really makes the world feel authentic, like I'm not alone and NPCs will just spawn when I get close to their location. Get the dog DLC (a woman's lot) at least.
